| Anybody in the Indianapolis area willing to adopt a kitty? |
|
Tigger is a beautiful long-haired calico male. His owner has lost her home for the 2nd time in three years. Previously, my friend has given up 3 dogs and 2 other kitties. She has moved in with her adult daughter, and cannot have any pets.
I am taking care of 10 cats right now, one is FELK+, two others are FIV+; otherwise I would take him in. He is a sweet, older male. Declawed and neutered...shots are not up to date, but he has always been kept inside.
Any ideas are welcome. The no-kill shelters are full. It just breaks my heart that this animal has no place to go.

| 1. Have you posted on the DU state forum or the Lounge? Craig's List or Petfinder? |
|
If you do post it to the public on any sites, be sure to get references you can check out and ask for an adoption fee. That will help weed out people who might have ugly motives.

| 2. Calico males are pretty rare |
|
Calicos are almost always female. The males are generally sterile, because you need 2 X chromosomes for the calico coloration. So the males have to be XXY males, which means they are sterile.
