It's been a while, so why not?
I'll start: Just found out my brother's prostate biopsy was negative. Phew.
Okay, your turn! Dig deep if you have to. :D

I messed something up with work, and I almost blurted out "I suck!!!" as I typically do (I talk to myself a lot ); instead, I stopped and breathed and said, out loud, "I'm doing the best I can."
 for me.
Of course, I'm grateful for my health and those I love, a roof over our heads and food on the table...and for all of you.
:grouphug: for all of YOU!
Thanks, MG. :hi:

Being an empath is hard on the body and the spirit, but the Universe, in its infinite wisdom, has provided me with the ability to spot deception very quickly so that I may avoid it.

It always surprises me when someone isn't. Deliberate, calculated deception is hard for me to understand. I understand that sometimes people aren't perfect, and I try to be compassionate in those situations. Calculated deception, however, is beyond my ability to comprehend; I can't wrap my brain around it. :( Luckily, I rarely encounter it in my personal life. (I've been blessed with mostly honest & ethical people passing through my life.)
Anyway, again, I'm glad that you have that gift. :)

Life would be so much easier for everyone. I was like you for much of my life, IHAD -- trusting everyone to be honest and ethical -- and ended up getting pretty badly abused a couple of times. I want to believe that everyone is imperfect and makes mistakes (even telling the occasional fib), but in some cases it is much more sinister, and for the ability to sniff this out I am grateful.

I feel fairly blessed in the area of discernment, but I have been blindsided a time or two. :( In truth, however, either I -- or others I trust -- felt something was "off" even in those situations; I just chose to ignore it.
Calculated deception, as well as manipulative and vindictive behavior, sucks.

"Discerning Christian" before I changed it. I've had the gift of discernment since my Miracle daughter was born 40 yrs. ago! The only reason I changed it was because of all of the pre conceived notions I got from folks on DU that think ANY belief system is "woo woo" and makes the person who believes in anything a "superstitious fool"!! Janus for the god that see's what's behind and before him at the same time. (discernment) and also for my birth month, and ascending as we all are, no matter what we call it in our belief system. With my strong empathy for all living creatures, it really comes in handy.

Since yesterday, I can repeat everything heard on the audio, as well as say comma, colon, period, quote, et cetera and relax into the work.

The flood gates have seemed to open for me work wise as for a while now I have been asking the angels, guides, and the universe to bring me many souls whom I can help. And today I've gotten some gigs that seem as if they are going to come through plus some "out of the blue" calls to do healing. I am truly blessed and thank the universe all the time for my wonderful husband, beautiful healthy children, and all of my wonderful friends.

Sometimes life can get me down, especially when faced with mounting debt. But I have developed a sense that everything will work itself out.
I volunteered to do the Open Meeting for this month at my Rosicrucian AB, and will conduct an experiment I wrote involving meditation directed on giving and thankfulness. Hopefully it will generate positive results.
I'm also grateful for my ASAH family. :grouphug:

Thats all I needed was a leg up. My work sucks, but I'm still there and make good money, I have good people around me, and the ones that aren't so good, I'm learning and giving so much to. LIfe is good right now, and I want to continue in this state of mind. I also Love everyone here. I don't post much. But I read all your posts everyday, and they give me inspiration and hope. ...I'm a foster parent for a rescue and these loving doggies have taught me more about acceptance, trust, resilience, letting go and 'looking on the bright side' than I learned in 4 years of psychotherapy. Prior to this, I just had my 2 dogs (Hank and Ray) who got me through the lowest of depressions and times when I wondered from week to week how I was going to afford to feed them. They stuck by me, greeted me every day with wags and those happy faces, and things got better. I owe my life to them.

that when I talked to my mom tonight, she didn't sound like she was dying. The woman who has been my nemesis for so many years has become a woman I admire and adore. I'm thankful I did not get fired or quit my job this week - and I found a reason to motivate me to keep this job that has been so extremely difficult a bit longer. I'm thankful for my DU friends - and ASAH. I say I'm an atheist, but that's because it's so much easier than telling people that I know there is an energy, but I can't quite explain what it is or if it is even a 'who' or 'what' - but it's there because my physical and spiritual self has 'felt' it. I'm thankful that I have a beautiful daughter and family that I can talk to when much of the world could care less about what I think or am going through. I'm thankful for my country. I adore America as I know her to be, not this distorted illusion. There are just too many things to be thankful for to list, really.

I feel very much like you in reference to my beliefs. I just say that I'm spiritual, and I don't feel the need to say more. If someone wants more, I tell them my own version of what you said. I'm OK with not knowing all of the workings of the Universe, and I'm happy to tell them that too. (That seems to make them very nervous. :D)
I also feel the same way as you in reference to our country. I often think of her as something akin to the Native American in the environmental commercial from the early 70s who sheds a tear after some trash is thrown from a speeding car and lands at his feet. I'm sure that she's shedding many tears right now.

| 34. Great thread MG... here's my abbreviated list... |
|
I am grateful for my husband and son and that they are in positions to create their respective arts and that they are appreciated and supported in what they do. I am grateful that I have a plan to do the same. I am grateful for the roof over my head and that I am warm when it's cold outside. I am grateful I have a computer, a printer, paper, pens, a phone... and pretty good basic knowledge on how to use all of that. I am grateful for my dreams that guide me and give me a clue when my conscious mind is thinking wtf most of the time. :) I am grateful for music and my access to listen to whatever I want whenever I want. I am grateful that we have a car that runs efficiently and safely. I am grateful I live in a safe area. I am grateful for the supportive friends, family and general community that surrounds me. I am grateful for a sense of humor that allows me to laugh when things are not what I thought they would/should be. I am grateful for the job I have and for the plans I have to move beyond this job to more meaningful work. I am grateful that I can pay bills. I am grateful I am mobile enough physically that I can walk with my dog most mornings thru a sweet little neighborhood. I am grateful we have food to eat every day and that we are not hungry. I am grateful that we are able help others occasionally when needed as well as able to accept help when we need it too.

| 37. That job came through for me |
|
I left the job I had such high hopes for, but they had misrepresented the pay (by a long shot) and the office cliques were unbearable. They were so funny how they went out of their way to ignore my birthday when EVERYONE gets a cake a card. Being 59, I don't NEED a cake, etc, but they felt it was a good "slam". The final straw was when they moved my desk to the farthest part of the building when they knew I had issues walking with my replacement knee that is apparently misaligned.
So, I started my new job this week and I just LOVE it! The people are friendly, the benefits are far better, and I am making over $130 more per week. They actually treat me with respect. My cubicle is awesome and I am working at something to benefit people down on their luck. I get to use my brain and I find the work interesting.
Other than that, I am getting my best friend to attend Al-Anon with me. My goal is to help her help herself and her counselor had recommended she go. I am grateful that I can be supportive for such a wonderful earth angel. She says she is ready and I will support her however I can.

I always prayed I'd be around long enough to take that "4 generation" picture that my Gram and my Mom got to do. It's still hush hush....but my daughter in law let me know tonight that Missy is almost twelve weeks! Funny thing is ...I already knew it, and told my eldest daughter just about that long ago, and that I knew it was going to be a girl. My Mom came to me in a dream to let me know!! Now I have something else to hang around and look forward to. Every time I feel like just giving up, The Master gives me a new blessing!!! I am....so....thankful!!!!

... I agreed to meet a friend for late lunch this afternoon, and while I was waiting for him to arrive I crossed paths, glances - and maybe sparks of interest - with a man who was apparently picking up his own lunch-to-go.
He kept looking back at me as he progressed through the line (and I had time to check for a wedding band - none) and after he picked up his order was walking in my direction when my friend arrived.
A few months ago, I didn't think I'd ever want to 'look' again - and certainly didn't expect to ever be looked at- after a relationship fizzled badly, so I am grateful for this encounter, for the courage that I know I would have had to say 'hello' as he approached (whether he stopped or not) and for the opportunity that the Universe will (hopefully) present for us to cross paths again very soon, as this cafe is very close to my house.

I needed to vibe up really quickly so I had to come up with gratitude right away. #1 I live in my favorite state -California-despite the 405, #2 My college degree, #3 My beloved friends, #4 having the most awesome sister in the history of time (these ARE NOT in order). And, with regard to 'attraction' ... you never know when it's going to sneak up on you.
I found out a few days ago, in the most innocuous of ways, that this gentleman and I are Facebook Friends with several mutual friends in common! I sent him a private message just asking if by chance he was at that cafe, that day, and he replied that yes it was him - confirmed what time of day it was - and said that he thought he recognized me too but wasn't sure and next time we cross paths I should SAY HELLO!
Unfortunately, he's in a relationship with a woman who looks like an angel (inside and out) so I don't stand a chance with him, but at least I had the courage to find out, and I am thankful for that. And also thankful now, for the Universe tapping me on the shoulder and letting me know who/where he is.

Edited on Thu Nov-25-10 04:07 AM by BlueIris
I was just reminded of this again the other day when I was "guided" to notice an index card thumbtacked to a busy message board in my grocery store, advertising grey kittens. For a long time now, I have wanted to find a tame, grey or grey tabby cat to call my own, though they are scarce here and I didn't want to go to a breeder or out of state shelter to find one. And suddenly, I notice an ad for some little grey ones, free! Yay!
I'm also grateful for a certain politician whose initials are JK. He's not everybody's cup of tea, but I still like him a lot.

| 56. I had the second epidural |
|
(after haveing to go to the ER again, but this time they sent me home) I went in thinking I might have pneumonia as I had the shaking chills when I awoke but no fever. Also felt as weak as a kitten, and barely able to walk. The past week I had felt a lot of nausea and NO appetite. I had the epidural the day before Thanksgiving (4L and 5L disks this time) I felt pretty strong on Thankgiving when my new pics were taken, and the day after...but it's been down hill since. My Dr. insists on seeing me in his office tomorrow AM, so we shall see what's next. I'm just exhausted!!??? Visiting nurses are alarmed that my BP has been high for the past few days.....it is chronically low unless there's an infection going on in my body. Dr. is worried about possibility of a stroke. No w get this...HE KNOWS that when he gave me the "Lisinopril" when it was high back in June and I had the colitis attack, my pressure was so low that the Drs. had a very hard time keeping me out of shock!!! I don't know what to do if he wants me back on it????

| 57. I am grateful for a new life |

who has been long awaited.
Imagine you've been trying to get pregnant for two years, and your mother is so wounded, she laughs and cackles in the background when your 19-year-old sister calls to tell you she's conceived, gloating over the fact that it wasn't you.
When this happened to my friend, I wanted to cheer her up. She'd lost a lot of special things from her beloved late grandmother so i scanned my room for some doodad with Grandma juju.
And there was the little plastic Lakota baby in the turquoise and black cradleboard. My Italian Grandmother had given it to me when I was a teenager because she knew me well. I hung it as a symbol of babies and vulnerabilty and thought of it as Grandma protection for my six babies.
That was it. The Fertility Idol, I called it.
My grieving friend laughed and took it and hung it up above the bed she shares with her SO.
I sent out thoughts of her child.
Within a month she was pregnant.
Thanks to those relations who helped ;)
