Prayer for New Year

May our compassion, wisdom and loving kindness dissolve the poisons of greed, hatred and delusion.

Through our compassion may we constantly work to end the suffering of all sentient beings, feeding those who have little or no food, sheltering those who are homeless, comforting those who are unwell, becoming a refuge for those in need.

Through our wisdom may we truly see that all life is interconnected and respect it accordingly. May our wisdom build bridges of understanding to span the many chasms of divisiveness. May our wisdom help us to end prejudice of all kinds; may we have respect for all cultures and races; and may we show deep respect for all faiths, recognizing each of them as paths to True Understanding.

Through our loving kindness may we put an end to fear, prejudice and hate, bringing peace to all and ending the scourge of war. May we see, as the Buddha said, that hate does not put an end to hate, that only love can end hate. May we share what we have, both spiritually and materially, so that all beings will benefit.

May all beings have True Happiness; may all beings be freed from suffering and its causes; may all beings be one with the Highest Perfect Joy; may all beings dwell in equanimity, freed from discrimination and attachment; and may all beings dwell at last in the Realm of Perfect Peace.

I'm at a critical crossroads, suddenly faced with essentially no income due to losing a client pretty much overnight, and I have zero safety net.

Years ago, when I was on my absolute last gasp of worry about finance and could not sleep for worry... at 4 am or so I got up and looked in the 'jobs' section of the newspaper.. and there was a position that was perfect for me, although it required a move back to Canada from Ireland.

I can only hope and trust that there will be something good for you soon... because you give so much of yourself and help us all so much with your sheer goodness...

20. Prayers for Me & my Teen

He is convinced hate him and never wanted him in the first place - I am DONE trying to make him okay when he chooses a violent video game over learning skills in the REAL world- i tried to delete the program off his computer, and it was ON...

He screams at me and threw something at me and tells me I hate him, when i tell him he is in need of help and i see his health and soul deteriorating...

then it escalated and i got mad too, and said if i didn't care about him and his well being i wouldn't still drive him around or take him to the college and make sure he registered, and his grandparents and I wouldn't have given him all he has ever wanted or needed...


i'm angry and sad, but more than anything i just want him to go ahead and GO... it's a hard world out there and maybe he needs that slap on the face to wake up?

I have two hormonal teenagers separating from me as well. Blowups are a challenge! Sometimes when we were so close, the kids need to construct strong reasons to separate...even if they have no basis in what we perceive as fact.

Each soul comes here to tell it's own story. It's sometimes really challenging to hold a safe space and witness the story our children choose/need to tell.

26. I'm sick

I've been sick since last Friday. The fever lasted about three days. I'm now dealing with a cough that exhausts me. The doctor's office says this can go on anywhere from 7-14 days, and I'm tired of it already. ;-)

This winter's flu/cold one-two punc has been heinous. I was sick with the flu portion the week before christmas, and am still hacking...even after a Zpak to clear my sinuses this week

33. I need to manifest a lot of money by the end of the month

I received an unexpected, really large tax bill. I have some assets so I can probably get a loan, but it would be nice to not have to go into any more debt. The gift is that this is really making me revamp my business. I believe it is always important to look for the gift in the challenge.

edit to add: my cold and flu response is the homeopathic remedy oscillococcinum. http://www.oscillo.com/ It works better at the first sign of either cold or flu. Oscillo generally cuts a week worth of sickness down to 3 days or less for me. I sometimes also use sambucus(elderberry)/echinacea blends later on. Cold cure PM tea helps me sleep, which always surprises me since it has so much peppermint!

59. Please send prayers/light for husband's last court date.

This is not the "big" one; but it could be very bad...or not. I have absolutely no idea how this will go. We have paid the lawyer everything but $300,but I can't pay that before tomorrow's court date. He will be attending while serving his two days a week for his last conviction. This is almost the same offense. It is possible there will be a continuance, but we'd like to get this over with so he can figure out his work schedule - now that he has one job and other offers are pouring in (go figure!). His state of mind is...better, but this could put him in a tailspin if it goes very badly. I know that I need to release the outcome to the universe, and that I *don't* know what is best for all, but I just can't see how the worst outcome would be a good thing for his mental health.

Eh, I'm rambling; sorry..very stressed out. All the bills came due this week including the lawyer,and I'm very freaked out about them. Trying to breathe.

ANYway, he will have court tomorrow morning around 8 or so, give or take an hour. He'll probably have to wait awhile for the case to come up. Anything you feel comfortable sending in a positive way would be wonderfully, gratefully received.

I don't *feel* depressed, at least not that I recongnize, but I don't know that I'd know it if it came dressed in different clothes, so to speak. Lol. I find myself alternately angry and at peace.

if you could spare a second, would you mind sending some comforting light to one of my favorite celebrities, James May (see sig)? His cat, Fusker, was hit by a car and killed. He and his GF went for several days not knowing where he was, put up "lost" signs, etc., and then found out that he was dead. :( Fusker was quite the character and was famous in his own right (James talked about him often and he even had a cameo in some of his shows) and had a large fan base all his own.
