When we ask for something we have two possible outcomes: the one we think can happen and the one the universe has planned for us. While the one we think can happen is usually really good, whatever the universe has in mind for us is even better. So much better that we cannot even imagine it. But we ask for what we think is possible and then our fears get in the way. Change is hard and manifesting usually creates change in some part of our life. And we’re all either afraid of change or we know that in order to change we are going to have to do something that scares us.

So so so true! I used to get her newsletter but turned off a bunch of stuff because I was doing more "reading about" stuff rather than doing it or teaching it. But this one got me to LIKE her on Facebook. I appreciate you bringing this it our attention.

And yeah, "change does NOT happen in our comfort zone" so I keep one foot in and one foot out (or try to).

9. In your opinion, though

regarding the instruction to write down the thing you want PLUS the things that are scary, well doesn't the universe also produce on the undesirable parts since it is something you concentrate on,too??:hi:

10. I think the piece said

to write down everything that scares you, and then request that the Universe take care of all of the fears--in other words, remove them from the equation. Which is a good idea, I think. :)

what I have been taught is to mindfully work with the fear - don't push it away, don't wallow in it but to observe it, remember to breath into my belly, and if possible for me to give it that space until it wears itself out. I would think dealing with anxiety and worry mindfully, and doing what can be done to correct the feared situation if any of course, is different energetically than avoiding it and thereby shoving it into the shadow to percolate and putrefy to later pop-up intrusively or just *worrying* and omg isn't this awful, isn't this dreadful and perpetuating or increasing it's energy.

I think of certain relatives who will talk about minor problems things over and over and over for *years* after the situation is over and done with and nothing will change what happened and just fretting themselves into a froth for the umpteenth time. They never resolve or release it, just revisit old hurts and irritations thereby sustaining or increasing the emotional and energetic charge involved..

I am not saying any of you do that but just as an extreme example of what I think most people including me do unless we catch ourselves. A less extreme example is my Mom when something irritating happens at work she will tell me, she will tell my sister, her Mother, a friend or two without a detectable release of the energy. Sometimes it seems she gets more upset recounting whatever bit of office politics is bugging her. It is easier to catch other people doing stuff like this in myself and when I do I take it as a reminder to mindfully deal with my own emotional stuff so I don't continue to haul it around with me.

or another thing is worrying about being late when stuck in traffic - worrying will not make things change any so why follow family tradition of sitting and fuming and worrying about how late I will be and what people will think of me and so on. Better to practice belly breathing and try to at least open my mind a window crack to the possibility that I might not be terribly late or that maybe traffic will be lighter later on the route so I will get there on time. Sometimes I do get there on time, sometimes I get there with time to spare, sometimes I still am late but at least I didn't try to give myself an ulcer worrying over it.

2. WOW--I cannot express how much I needed to read this today

Last night, before I went to sleep, I was scribbling madly in my journal about this very subject, and I was going to start an OP this morning. But here it is! Funny how that works, eh? :P

Anyway, last night I was stuck on the conundrum of manifestation vs. being open to the Universe. I mean, on the one hand, we're taught to envision, to pull in, to manifest exactly what we want with meditating, spellwork, vision boards, affirmations, etc., and the more specific the better.

But on the OTHER hand, we're always told to try to achieve emptiness/openness/detachment, in order for the Universe to provide whatever we most need that will make us happiest, which might be something we haven't even thought of yet. (As de song say, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might find you get what you need.)

So...which is it? How is it possible to do both? We witches have that great little loophole statement we always use as a closing to our spells--"for the good of all and the free will of all, harming none"--but does that cover it?

AND how can we, as creative humans, shut off our fanciful imaginations? I mean, since I'm a writer, I manifest by daydreaming scenes in great detail. But is that wrong? Is that stopping me from receiving something different that's better?

Ugh, I'm confusing myself. Looking forward to responses on this topic, because I'm going in circles at this point. :banghead:

And seeming contradictions are all part of the process. You know what? I think the answer is "all of the above." I feel that we co-create, with the universe....... It is a matter of balance. The daydreaming? :thumbsup: the nothingness :thumbsup: the mundane?:thumbsup: meditation :thumbsup: diet and exercise? :thumbsup: work :thumbsup: fun :thumbsup: indulgence :thumbsup:

Just as we need more than a diet of broccoli and cauliflower, we need a metaphysical diet that includes more than just meditation, more than just daydreaming, more than tools and spells, more than just mantras and chants, more than just prayer, more than just analyzing dreams, more than just interpreting the stars. And it is about doing most of this, and some of it simultaneously--I talk a lot about "letting go" while at the same time keeping a stake in the outcome. It sounds contradictory, but somehow it also *isn't.*

I agree that we need all of the above--but how do we know when to use what method? How do we know when to envision something specific, and when to give it all up to the Universe? Or should we just say, "Okay, this is what I want, but if you have a better idea, go for it--I promise not to be pissed off"?

And what about a specific situation? I have one coming up--I was shown that a certain event (of a personal nature) would occur on a specific date in May. A couple of "backup" methods of checking, in consultation with other seers, showed that what I was initially told would indeed occur on that day. Now, I WANT this thing to occur, so I've been thinking a lot about it, but I don't want to sabotage it. In other words, I want to make sure it happens, but I don't want to focus so much on what I was shown that I make it implode if circumstances have changed in the meantime.

...Er, does that make ANY sense? :crazy:

Ground yourself if not. Sometimes this works "I accept all the blessings and healing of the color purple." That is the quickie.

If yes, go on.

It is in my whole best interest, and in the best interest of all concerned to manifest (this particular outcome) on (this particular day). (yes, no)

Keep in mind that I think the "future" stuff is a little iffy.

If yes, then go on.

Then for the wording--muscle test it (or use a pendulum) for each and every sentence or manifestation tool.

Then, test again for the whole.

Ask if there is something else to add (yes, no).

If no, go on. If yes, come up with possibilities and test each of them (yes, no).

Repeat until you come up with something that passes the tests.

Then, you have done all you can do. Be comfortable with that and be able to accept with equanimity any outcome that occurs.

6. Good idea

I've never tried muscle testing, but I do have a pendulum. I even have a low-rent version of questioning that works well--I spin my ring. It has a flat surface, so I lay it down on a table with the band standing up, ask a question, and spin it; if it stops "upright", with the band left to right, it's a "yes", and if it stops "sideways", with the band top to bottom, it's a "no". I haven't done that in a long time, but it always worked well, so I may try it again. I just have to make sure that, whatever method I use, I am grounded and emotionally detached, like you said--nothing like fritzy emotions to make hash of the outcome. ;)

And then, of course, as you also said, future stuff is iffy. Circumstances change constantly... :crazy: Thanks, C! :hi:

Well great minds must think alike! HAHA! This is exactly what I go through in this argument. The dilemna of daydreams in decision factoring.... well, my brain has had a good massage, the ponderance of which has made me nooddle-y.HEEHEE!

Lots of things I've daydreamed haven't come true, of course, but I believe in recycling--at least two of them have been repurposed and appear in my novel, and I've got a third on deck for use in my next book.
