| Hello, I'm new to this group |
|
I normally post over at the Cooking & Baking group and sometimes on GD, but I was inspired the other day to check out what you folks were up to here on the Astrology etc group, and I liked what I saw so I've been back a couple times. I wanted to take an opportunity to say "hello", introduce myself a little, and let you know that I might be joining you more often here.
I've had an on-again/off-again romance with all things astrological for more years than I care to tell (Sun in Libra, Virgo ascendent, Moon in 10th house Cancer along with Uranus and Neptune, Saturn on my ascendent), as well as many things spiriual and alternate healing. I found myself into these realms at a fairly young age - in my junior year in high school (Catholic school taught by nuns), I gave a talk on Edgar Cayce's 2012 predictions and the rising of Atlantis that he predicted to occur in the 1960's. Got some funny looks, I must say!
Anyway, I'm happy to have found an active, interesting group here, I hope you have room for someone new who would like to read and maybe join in a bit.

Your background sounds quite similar to mine - other than the on again/off again. I found this path in Catholic school and haven't gone back (other than very brief moments when people told me I was doing Satan's work - got over them pretty quickly).
I am glad you are here and look forward to what you share. :hi:

We're a friendly and supporting lot over here; you'll like it! :toast:
BTW, I had to LOL at your story about your talk at Catholic school--I did the same thing! In sophomore English we had to do a term paper that include something active (experiments, interviews, etc.), not just parroting what we read in books on our chosen subject. I chose ESP and parapsychology, and my best friend and I conducted ESP tests and I charted their accuracy over time. WOW did some of the other students think I was insane! (The teacher wasn't one of the nuns, thank goodness.) Two years later, in another English class, I wrote an essay on reincarnation, and the teacher liked it so much she read it to the class. That sealed it--one girl even came up to me after class, absolutely terrified, and asked me if I was a witch. She remembered the ESP paper, and in her limited mind, all of that could only add up to...witchcraft! (Still not sure how she got there, but whatever.) Funnily enough, I wasn't a witch at the time, but I became one about 15 years later!
Anyway, do join us when you can--lots to learn here! :hi:

LOLOL...Another Catholic school girl here. I must say my friends in high school who believed as I in the alternatives still do, so it's wonderful that you've stopped by here. There's sooo much to learn from everyone here, so much respect, and so much love that I sometimes can't believe this group exists on a political site

Curious - do you feel your report on Casey is coming to fruition? Do you remember any of the details he gave about this time?

Welcome to our group!!!
As an empath I can tell you that I am a superb cook and especially a great baker, because of being one. You should be at home in both places. You will learn a lot from us because, while we are often very "right brained" (touchy-feely people), we are just people who think from a different approach. Because we rely a a lot more on body signals and senses, we are the kind who look at a recipe for the first time and say, " I can imagine how that tastes and I think it would be better if I take out this and add that ..." For me anyway it usually works.
Though sometimes I am wrong. I cannot remember the recipe but it called for black pepper, which did not seem right, because if I remember right, it was a sweet recipe like cookies or something. So I left it out. But then a friend told me, "The pepper is what makes this recipe," and when I put it in ...delicious! I get the BEST suggestions and recipes from the C & B group.
Welcome aboard!

Interesting to see so many new faces around here these days. I remember when I first joined...I was seeking remedies for a case of "bad ex boyfriend." Black kyanite and flower essences got rid of that eventually.

Think you will find our group here at ASAH a nice reprieve from the rest of DU. (Never been to Cooking & Baking....they are probably nice, too.) We treat one another with mutual respect, generally.
We're always happy to welcome a newcomer. Jump right in & don't be shy! :hi:
(BTW, I'm a Catholic school survivor, too, but I escaped in 6th grade. My sin was divorced parents.) :eyes:
