Since this week is full of *All Things Royal* on ALL Channels... our own 'channels' here should have their fair shake. ;)

Soooooo....is anyone getting any Hits? Rick or Stella, any Astrology insights with Wills and the Country?

It was interesting for me to watch the footage of Diana, I was only 11 when the wedding happened. And I vividly remember crying on the phone watching the late breaking news of her car accident...quite a strange 'lookingglass' moment to be watching her child preparing to marry.

1. I'm getting a much better feeling about William & Kate

than I did about Charles & Diana. I told my mom when that engagement was announced that she'd never be Queen. I don't think Charles will ever be King either, but who knows?

What's really weird is this: When I was very young (like maybe 10 or so) I had a dream in which Charles never became king, but Andrew did. Not sure why I tapped into that, I wasn't really a royal watcher at that age. An alternate reality? :shrug: Still get that feeling, although it seems less likely to happen now that William is getting married & will be having kids soon. :)

8. I don't believe Charles will ever be King, either

Isn't there some question as to whether Camilla can actually be Queen? They're both divorced. The King of England is still considered Defender of the Faith, and it would be difficult at best. Of course, IMHO.

I think Charles will abdicate in favor of William, especially if he and Kate have children in the next couple of years.

I was lucky with Diana's wedding. My mom stayed up all night & only woke me when she showed up in the carriage. I remember thinking "OMG, *THAT'S* her dress?" :wtf: For all the fuss they made over it, it was too simple & the train was way too long.

but Diana's dress was ludicrously over the top huge and ruffled. I thought then, and I still think that it's one of the all time ugliest wedding dresses ever. The dress wore her, she did not wear the dress. I've read that Camilla was influential in persuading Diana to go with such an awful dress.

Contrast Diana's dress with the one worn by Sarah Ferguson---now THAT was the dress Diana should have worn.

pretty interesting that the Obamas aren't invited and that they are creating their own news by attending the last shuttle launch at the same time. Okay so I listened to Richard Hoagland on C ot C the other day and he was mentioning that Obama had been purposefully snubbing England lately because of their being the banking elite and all. It all had to do with symbols and his making a speech from the Blue Room rather than the Oval Office (?????) Not sure what to make of it........it made sense in the middle of the night. :silly:

7. It's not a State event

as Charles' wedding to Diana was, since he is first in line to the throne. William is #2, so his wedding is not a State event. IOW, it's William's & Kate's call as to who they wanted to invite. I think it's quite possible that the question whether to invite or not invite the Obamas was handled via back-channels & it was decided, for security reasons, not to invite them. If they had been invited & declined, can you imagine what the howler monkeys on Faux would do with that? Oh the humanity!

No, it's better that they weren't "officially" invited & the last launch of the Space Shuttle makes for a good cover story. (can't tell you how depressed I am that we are folding our space program)

I enjoy a good wedding, carriages and pomp...and her dress was awesome, VERY grace kelly ...actually teared up during the vows and seeing their faces so open and shining with promise and love.

I don;t care what you think of manarchy, these kids have something about them. an ease, and understanding and compassion...maybe they will make some positive changes in their lifetimes. In fact, i'd be willing to bet on it. (you know they asked people to donate to charities instead of giving gifts...and they also are donating all leftover food from the reception to the homeless in london. sound slike some would say it's a "let them eat cake" moment, but i think it shows their character that they even acknowledge the less fortunate.)

Props to Wills & Kate, they are a cute couple, and seem to genuinely care for each other. Yes, I watched Diana and Charles' wedding in 1981 (I was 6 mos. pregnant with my daughter) Missed this one but have seen the reruns. Adorable!

29. I didn't understand Victoria's hat, and I love hats.

She should wear the hat ON her head, not precariously balanced on her forehead. If anything, she looked like a seal balancing a ball.

Also, she is pregnant. She should be careful about what kind of shoes she wears. Those shoes were six inches high. That is dangerously high for a pregnant woman.

Usually, I find Victoria very stylish. I am not so sure this time.

They're decorated headbands (basically) that look like little tiny hats (or birds' nests, or in the case of Princess Eugenie, a Flying Spaghetti Monster) perched oddly on your head. Cute and sometimes stylish, they're sort of a nose thumb to the snobby hat crowd (IMHO).

33. Yes, that is interesting (especially b/c the author suggests the couple did 'astro-planning'.)

I think they picked an awful time and date to get married and my first thought looking at the chart was, "Don't they use astrologers?" Someone should have red flagged this choice as a huge no-no. So I was fascinated to read that an astrologer thinks astrology was used.

I still don't have a good feeling about Kate Middleton's long term safety.
