I always feel better after reading some of the posts here. There is so much positive energy here, and some of you have a lot more woes than I have ever had.
Last night, I got no sleep. I spent the entire night beating myself up for everything I have ever done wrong in my life. I went to counseling to learn how NOT to do that, but I failed last night. About 5:30 a.m., I was drifting to sleep, when kitty decided to walk all over me, purr loudly, and head-butt my hands until I petted her. Then my husband decided to mow the lawn at 7:30 a.m. Then the guy who is installing new windows came to finish his work.
I felt a bit better when we were able to help someone who ran out of gas in front of our house. Then, my daughter called. She is subbing with the Orlando Symphony this weekend. It is exciting that they thought of her. She is trying to get a full-time job with them.
Then I came here and read what some of you are doing and thinking.
I have much to be thankful for. I need to remember that.

And you should see the beautiful windows. He stained the wood on the inside. And he installed a beautiful window seat in the bay window. It looks perfect in the room. It is for our 33rd anniversary.
We are lucky to have this beautiful old farmhouse, even though it falls apart on a regular basis.

Murielm99, I remember and miss my bay window/window seat right next to a fireplace inlaid with gorgeous blue and white Dutch tiles in an old house from years ago.
It's so good to be grateful for things and people we have and love now, as well as those we've had in the past. It's like a cool continuum. Just thinking about yours makes me feel good :D

I'm remembering some songs of pure gratitude, besides religious songs, Dido's "Thank You," http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TO48Cnl66w. "Thank You," Alainis Morisette, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOgpT5rEKIU Sly and the Family Stone "Thank You Letting Me Be Myself" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTLfHo9QAnQ&feature=related and, of course, "A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzJY96m3lkg
