| This mayor is a hoot: He's piping in New Age music |

into his city's downtown. http://www.npr.org/player/v2/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=137429497&m=137429466"...he believes he's found the solution to bringing down crime and making people in the city generally happier and less stressed. He's piping in new age music and bird songs all around downtown. Residents are not necessarily happy."Funny interpretation of the people the reporter surveyed. Of the 4 people she interviewed only one said it didn't affect him.

Probably works better in a town like that than our downtown. Wow that would be culture shock up against Beale Street. Wouldn't mind trying it though................
Thanks! Very interesting, and I hope it is proven effective. And this can't be banned...... and, no prescription needed!

Imagine what they'd do if continuously exposed to Kenny G.

my ever-loving mind. I can't handle the music and can't handle watching him play either. You and me both :hide:  I don't know what about it makes me ill :hide:

I it okay, but a little goes a long way. Enya I can handle a bit better. If they piped in music here downtown, it would have to be the blues. Anything else would be culture shock.

| 8. I agree with that! A little bit of Tosh |
|
goes a long way. I like Enya though but I think I'd walk into traffic if she were played downtown. You know, I like Yanni but some people - like my husband - can't stand him and would turn beastly if he were played downtown

| 9. Kenny G is NOT JAZZ. Kenny G is Noodling. |
|
That is all.
Noodling and jazz are different. Jazz bears some relation to the melody being improvised upon.
Class dismissed.

For sax music, I like Bhodi (sp?) James. THAT I can relax to, and =might= not mind so much, being blared into public spaces.
