My friend Catherine has a dog and a cat. The female dog, Gwynne, is a wonderfully-spirited beautiful golden lab (Leo). He's always been madly in love with his sister, Gabby, a gray, very fluffy female cat. They have always been inseparable. They sleep together.
Gabby had to be put down a month or two ago, she was old and had gotten very sick.
Needless to say, Gwynne became despondent without her sister, and wouldn't eat. She knew, and she missed Gabby.
After weeks of this, one day Gwynne started limping sharply around the house. Catherine picked her up and slowly and steadily squeezed on the troublesome foot but found no touchy spots. Nevertheless, Gwynne continued to hobble steadily. Finally, Catherine gave in an took her to the vet.
As soon as they reached the vet's door, Gwynne bounded in, jerking the leash from her owner's hand and with no visible sign of any type of limp, jetted behind the counter to find 3 baby kittens in a box.
There had been 12, but 9 had been given away. Gwynne excitedly stared at the 3 and wagged her tail furiously. Certainly, after some time, Mom decided to take 2 of the females home with her (two Geminis).
Gwynne was happy and limped no more. :hi:

| 2. Thank you, Rick, for yet another wonderful tale. Animals have so much |
|
to teach us, and we should pay attention. Just ask my critter family!!!

| 6. Do you think Gabby is one |
|
of the kittens in a fresh new body or Gabby told Gwynne exactly how to find new siblings? Anyway, I wonder if she's seen other homeless kittens at the vets before and knew exactly what to do to get there. What a smart girl

I absolutely love this story!
You've made my day, Rick. :loveya:
It will be interesting to see if Gwynne is drawn to one of the kittens more than the other one.

| 11. Catherine chose the 2 females |
|
as opposed to the single male because of the spraying. I'm sure he'll find home. Gwynne really is an awesome "dog."

Animals are really special, like the others, I believe they are our angels or guides... pets that are allowed to love and be loved are some of the luckiest creatures on Earth. And we are some of the luckiest readers on Earth!
Thanks for sharing!:loveya:

:hi: Can you tell Catherine that Gwynne and Gabby have touched me today? I can't get those two girls off of my mind, so I figured it means I've got to thank her for sharing her story that really is a powerful connection to the stream.
