| Users of neti pots - have a quick question |
|
Last year when I was making good money I bought a neti pot and saline packets and put them away so I'd have it when I needed it.
I'm home and battling the flu, and when I went out to the health food store for oregano oil and echinacea/goldenseal drops I saw a neti pot on the shelf and remembered I had one already.
I watched a Youtube video on how to use it, and I just did for the first time, successfully.
But how many times a day should one use it if one is in an acute phase of a cold or the flu?
Thanks, and love. :loveya:

| 1. I don't use a neti pot, but I do use a Waterpik with a special... |
|
tip that does the same thing. My preference is to use it 3 times a day when I have a cold. (I can't always do it since I'm at work, but that's what works best for me.)
I hope that you feel better soon, catzies.

| 2. Thanks for the healing wishes, IHAD |

I think I'll try 1-3 times a day.
I'm doing shot glasses of oil of oregano drops and echinacea/goldenseal drops every 4 hours in this acute phasae. Oil of oregano is vile stuff. But it beats being sick. :)

| 3. I make my own solution and use it twice a day everyday after I get up |
|
at least 30 minutes to an hour before bed.
I found this recipe on the net.
3/4 teaspoon of finely ground sea salt 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
I use a glass of filtered water, microwave it for 60 seconds, add solution and stir until dissolved.
I have used it three times a day, but have backed down to twice daily. Be aware that your nose can drain afterward if you bend over, at least that has happened in my case.
Hope you feel better soon.

| 4. Don't use them, but wish you well |
|
If you lived nearby, I'd give you some of my Influenzium homeopathic remedy. But since I don't, I'd recommend Monolauren (Lauric acid) as this can help with nipping the cold/flu in the bud, as it were.

| 7. I've been a big fan of oscillococcinum for years, but got it too late this time |
|
I didn't have any in the cupboard as I usually do, because it works best for me when I start taking it right away. I waited 48 hours and it was already too late.
But thanks for letting me know about Influenzium as I haven't seen/heard of that before.
Thanks.

| 5. As often as you think is necessary. We flush our sinuses when we've been to smoke filled concerts |
|
or have had a particularly bad day with environmental allergens. It's saved us from countless suffering.

as part of daily routine--like brushing my teeth--when I am well. Two to three times a day during allergy inducing season or when I have a cold. Highly recommend its use. Had a lot of sinus problems till I started using the neti pot. The daily wash outs pretty much got rid of the stuffy nose, headaches etc. Good luck and best! :hi:
