| Can anyone tell me what this wildflower is? |
|
It's lavender, blooming now in SC, usually in large groups. It's not a shrub or vine, just a flowering plant. You see it on the side of the road here and there.
It is a tiny plant, maybe 4" tall. The flower looks like a miniature violet, about 1/6 the size of a regular violet.
(I can't provide a picture because my camera died and I haven't yet replaced it.)

| 1. It sounds like some little flowers that I have blooming in my yard. |
|
I've always called them Johnny-Jump-Up and they look like this: I found a really neat wildflower ID guide that might help you out. http://www.birdmom.net/wildflowerindex.html

| 5. We call them Johnny-Jump-Ups too. |
|
Some have yellow centers on purple!
They "jump up" all over and I have been known to move them so they do not get trampled.

| 6. Sure looks like it. The ones I've seen aren't but about 4" tall but maybe |
|
they'll grow taller later on.
