Can anyone tell me what this wildflower is?

It's lavender, blooming now in SC, usually in large groups. It's not a shrub or vine, just a flowering plant. You see it on the side of the road here and there.

It is a tiny plant, maybe 4" tall. The flower looks like a miniature violet, about 1/6 the size of a regular violet.

(I can't provide a picture because my camera died and I haven't yet replaced it.)

1. It sounds like some little flowers that I have blooming in my yard.

I've always called them Johnny-Jump-Up and they look like this:

5. We call them Johnny-Jump-Ups too.

Some have yellow centers on purple!

They "jump up" all over and I have been known to move them so they do not get trampled.

6. Sure looks like it. The ones I've seen aren't but about 4" tall but maybe

they'll grow taller later on.
