Why are half of my just planted bulbs coming up red instead of green? They all got planted at the same depth, yet one is 6 inches tall, skinny and red, some are emerging normally but are red, while several others are the normal green.

My neighbor and I each have a Devil's Backbone. I keep mine in the house with very filtered light, she keeps hers on the patio in sun. Mine stays green while hers gets a strong red color to the leaves. Is it more of a streaking on the leave or is the entire leaf red?
