You see, a few weeks ago I asked about an easy way to get some booster vaccines before an upcoming trip and well, I found the easiest way. So after receiving BOTH the MMR and Tdap vaccines just about an hour ago, I figure I'm a goner for sure. The only question I guess is whether I will develop TEH AUTISM before I keel over.

For the record, I went to one of those specialty clinics they have in certain pharmacies. Up here in Minnesota they're called Minute Clinics. (http://www.minuteclinic.com) Fantastic invention; we've been taking our kids (and ourselves) there for years for minor maladies, and imagine my delight when I find out they can give all the routine immunizations too! One stop, in and out in 10 minutes.

BTW, I'm probably going to have both the regular flu vaccine and the H1N1 vaccine in the next couple of months. I'm a goner!!!

BTW did you get them in separate arms? That Tdap will give you a nice sore arm for a couple of days...

Tdap in the left (non-dominant), MMR in the right. And yep, I can already feel a little soreness in the left arm. Reminds me of the last tetanus shot I got.

I was looking at the screen as she was doing the "paperwork" and I think I got Sanofi Pasteur brand vaccines. Do you get royalties from them?

The weird thing is that we have the example of a country with a powerful and undemocratic government that DID wish to reduce the population, and it never occurred to China to poison everyone with vaccines! How much simpler that might have been than the one-child policy!

And if politicians wanted a major population reduction, they would be much more supportive of birth control and abortion.

It's all daft.

FWIW, I wish we had Minute Clinics here. There's less than a handful of them in the northern 'burbs of Indianapolis so maybe they're being test-marketed in Indiana and hopefully they'll make their way up to my city soon. Kroger/Scotts pharmacies here do do flu jabs but it'd be nice to have more services offered like this. I agree, it's a fantastic idea.

And with them being right inside the pharmacy, you take your 'scrip just a few steps over and you're back home in no time. Beats the hell out of two hours in the urgent care waiting room.
