ESPN NBA 2K5 question

I'm getting seriously frustrated here. I've got some idea of how to update the rosters, although figuring out who to trade to who (with a minimum required 12 people on the roster at all times), and having no way I can figure out to do multi-team or multiplayer trades, is frustrating.

More frustrating: How the bloody hell do I stop and restart "The Association" season game? I can get into it, play a bit. Save the game. When I go back and try to load the game, it loads up and puts me at the menu where I'd have to start a new game. Does this mean I have to play all 82 games and the playoffs without even turning the damned thing off?

Gaahhhh! I almost through the machine across the room last night. I've checked FAQs, forums, nothing. It's frustrating as hell.
