IMHO it has a really high "wow" factor, but I can't see spending that much money on it myself ... maybe if I were 20 years younger.
One warning ... Lumines is like crack. I played it for like 3 hours straight. It was terrific game play and a really groovy techno soundtrack. If Sony had been smarter, they would have bundled that game with the system.

He did buy the Twisted Metal game, too, though. While the graphics were pretty cool, I thought the overal execution left a lot to be desired. I had trouble because, IMHO, the game was too dark and a lot of the details too small (like the little targetting triangles that locate your enemies) for such a small screen. Of course, the flip side would be that enlarged images mean less of the playing field is visible.

Long Load times: nope, tony hawk under ground 2 remix, wich because of its extensive graphic use loads forever on a PS2 the loading time is cut in half, the game is larger, with the same # of music tracks (if anyone knows how to move the soundtrack from that game into the MP3 section, tell me) Blurry screen: Not at all, its a mini LCD screen, verry good definition Sucky audio: the audio isint THAT bad, but if your gonna watch a movie, put in the head phones, the tiny speakers arent good for kill bill or house of flying daggers

| 8. Sound is kinda sucky on the bass end |

On Twisted Metal the explosions are really distorted ... but the techno soundtrack on Lumines came through really nicely.
The graphics ... well, WOW!
