| How in the world do you control the puck/pass etc in NHL 2011? |
|
I was lucky to win a 60% off deal for NHL 2011 a few weeks ago for PS3 but because my then current TV had died, I haven't been able to play it until last night with my new HDTV. First off, the graphics, like with FIFA, are incredible. It's like watching a hockey game.
A hockey game where your team can't pass the fricking puck without icing or turning it over.... :banghead: :grr:
With the FIFA games you don't actually have to do anything to make your player dribble the ball. You have control of the ball down the entire pitch as long as an opposing player doesn't try to steal it or until you pass it.
With NHL 2011, you have to rock the Right stick back and forth to control the dekking or whatever it's called. However, if you pull the right stick back AT ALL, your guy shoots the puck across the ice resulting in either an icing penalty or a turn over, usually both, lol!
This looks like an awesome game. The graphics are incredible and the gameplay is smooth, whenever I managed to hold on to the puck long enough to skate down the ice. But I'm finding just holding on to the puck to be hard, let alone completing any passes. Any tips?

http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/991753-nhl-11/faqs/60996Left stick is skate/aim. Right stick side to side controls dekking, right stick front/back is passing. That's all I've got. :D

| 2. I ran into the same issues |
|
I usually never deked because just pulling back a little starts the windup for the slap shot. Passing I just press pass, depending on your settings you can either raise pass accuracy or lower it.
That is all I got. My console is pretty much done and sent the game back to Gamefly. I'm looking to see if I can suspend my account or something until I get a new console. Definitely looking to buy a PS3. Too many problems with Xbox & Xbox 360.

| 3. Yeah, I thought I had changed the controls to just having a "pass button" |

but still, if I just nudged one of the sticks in any way the puck goes flying.
Idk, I'll try it some more over the next couple weeks to see if I can get the hang of it, but I'm considering just selling it to Gamestop. At most, they're give me what I originally paid for it, about 40% the retail cost.

| 4. There should be a pass button on default controls |
|
I know for XBox 360 it is right trigger.
I recall you mentioning you had a PS3 and I looked same location but they call it "R2".
