This is from 1947. I do not believe I saw this. I only came across it by seeing The Concert which features Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto No 35 in D major. Which is a fabulous piece of music in and of itself, but enhanced with this story in The Concert becomes most touching and memorable. I saw that in Westwood today. And, in watching the You Tube videos of the various Violin Concertos, I came across Jascha Haifetz doing the same. A female face watches him, with such sorrow, such emotion. He speaks to her after the concert. She says it wasn't her (who helped someone) but Carnegie Hall. He says "But Nora, you are Carnegie Hall." Well, now I must see that. And looking at the cast, who isn't in the film. Leopold Stokowsky and others. Filmed in Carnegie Hall. dc
