1. One of the critics in The Washington Post...
....opined that the Essentials Jr. was a noble idea but that it wouldn't fly with kids. Of course I should also add that before this year's Academy Awards the Post suggested that James Franco's laid-back approach augured well for his performance as cohost. We all know how that turned out.

Getting back to TCM, I'd be interested to know what experiences people have had showing the Essentials Jr. to their own kids and grandkids. Just what do they respond to?

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington has the advantage of children playing a special part.
