There Will Be Blood Dominates NYFCO Awards
Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood was the big winner at this year's New York Film Critics Online award meeting. We were there, we voted and we were happy to see some of our favorites receive recognition. There Will Be Blood follows the epic rise and fall of prospector Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis) in the booming West Coast oil fields at the turn of the 20th century. The film shared Best Picture with Julian Schnabel's The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Blood's other awards include Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, Best Cinematography for Robert Elswit, Best Score for Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood and Best Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis.
