It still takes courage to agree with 70% of the country. Show Dan Zanes some love!

Today, I saw an act of courage where I didn't expect it.

My wife and I took our daughter to see Dan Zanes in concert at The Somerville Theater near Boston, Mass.

Anyway, about half way through the show, Mr. Zane got a loud applause when he said, "It isn't a party, until you have an anti-war song."

And then a long, loud round of applause.

"We've been at this thing for four years now, and it's not working. It's time to get out." (I'm paraphrasing, I may not have it exactly right. He caught me by surprise. I don't want to say I'm quoting someone precisely, if I'm not 100% sure.)

And then even more applause.



And then they sang the song, "Down by The River Side:

After the show, Mr. Zane and his band were signing autographs and talking to people. I thanked him for speaking out against the war, and told him that it still takes courage, even when 70% of the country agrees with you.
