My girlfriend is an Extreme Skier.
One of those crazy people who helicopter into conditions that just freak me out.
But I love to travel with her.
So I asked my friend, Eric Schoenberg ( www.OM28.com ,do yourself a favor), to find a guitar that was basically bullet-proof, cheap and cool.
He led me to a Trinity College TG-20.
12-fret cutaway, solid rosewood body, spruce top.
I put .012 and .016 on the first and second strings, along with a set of wound mediums, to accommodate slide. And I put some Waverlys on it.
The guitar kicks butt.
It may not have the whiskey throat that some of my guitars have, but it will definitely get your attention.
From what I have seen, the workmanship can be a bit spotty from guitar to guitar, but mine is as tight as a schoolmarm's you-know-what.
And it's a cheapie ($500 or so).
In between the last sentence and this, I went and pulled a few of my guitars out of their cases.
This is the one I am traveling with.
Take it to parties.
Bang on it at home.
Well my girlfriend says I'm drinking way too much So she loaned me her car to help me move my stuff
I'm gonna sell the bitch's car I'm gonna sell the bitch's car I'm gonna sell the bitch's car Gonna buy myself a cool guitar
Thing about guitars is, when they talk back it is because you have elicited some response.
You gotta love that.
This is my first OP in this group. It is Christmas Eve, and I am just bouncing around this big old house on my own. Playing blues and singing a bit flat.
Well, it's Rock'n'Roll And it's Hootchie-Coo And it's Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas To yours and to you, too.
