| Keyboard synthesists-how the hell do I make an ARP Odyssey mk III stop making a sound? |
|
I've managed to get it to make the "tuning" sound from Roger Powell's book, but I can't get the sound to change otherwise, and it won't stop. Help!

I haven't played around with an ARP in forever. Was a Moog guy, then when the programmable age came around in became a Korg guy.
Later i pretty much settled on Ensoniq and Alesis, because i like the punch those provide in a live situation. (The new Korgs all are too subtle for live and end up sounding mushy.)
But, i've done LOTS of know twiddling in my day. So, describe the settings you have now. Where are the knobs. Which oscillators are engaged and on what wave form. Is there a patch bay on the Odyssey? (Don't remember that.)
Just give me an update and i'll see if i can help you out. GAC

| 2. Unfortunately, the website with the patch is down right now. |

If you're able to get to www.arpodyssey.com and look at the "tuning" patch from the scans of Roger Powell's book there, you'll see how I have it set up.

Geez, it's hard to read those patch tables! As soon as i figure out some way to actually read which paramater is which, i'll toss out some ideas for you.
I love the old analog synth days. GAC
