| Acoustic Guitar Recording Problem |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-10-09 10:52 PM by KatyMan
I have a Dean Exotica acoustic, with a built in Dean DMT preamp and tuner. I've had it nearly 6 months. Awhile back, I was playing around with recording it, connecting the jack to the mike input on my computer, and it sounded good, recorded fine, but now for some reason I can't get any low notes to record; if I play an E chord, I get the EBG# coming through on the high end, but nothing lower. I'm getting the same results on 2 machines. Could it be the pickup in the guitar? Is it my cord? I'm using a regular 1/4", with a little adapter to get it down to the 1/8" (I guess?) input on the sound card mike jack. Any ideas? Thanks, and I'll hang up and listen.
ETA, I'm recording using Kristal.

and apparently it's the pickup, but nothing serious. The last time I had new strings put on and a setup done, apparently the saddle moved a bit off the soundboard, meaning the bass strings weren't within range. So, the guy at the store is taking care of it. If anyone is in Katy/West Houston, I can recommend a great guitar shop!
