Dear Black Americans: Democrats Deliberately Hold your Children Down

Dear American Blacks:

Sometimes the very best act of friendship I could do is tell you that the person you think is your best friend actually works against you behind your back, laughing at you, mocking your hardships, secure in the knowledge that you need him too much to ever leave him.

Sometimes — no, actually always — the true friend is the one who tells you what you don’t want to hear. The one who does not indulge you, the one who will neither promise you nor give you candy and other bennies. Instead he tells you to sit down and eat your green beans and spinach — and if you want that nice car, then quit whining, get an education, earn a good job, and earn that nice car.

The really ironic thing is that the slick, good-time “friend” will tell you what a jerk your true friend is. And you will believe him. You will believe him, that is, until you grow up, or until your good-time friend sells you up the river so far that your life is wrecked, and your future is ruined. Your wisdom will have been gained at a steep price.

...American Blacks, the Democratic Party is that good-time, lying, back-stabbing excuse for a “friend”. The DC Voucher story is an illustration — hardly a unique story — of how Democrats continually seek to set you up as a permanent underclass, so that you’ll depend on them to throw you scraps and believe their lies, in order to secure your votes to keep them in power.

I almost have no words. I honestly don't know what's worse... the racism behind this idiot's assertion that every black American is a member of the "permanent underclass" and that we should heed the words of our white Republican "friends" and do as we're told ("eat your green beans") or the unmitigated gall this man had to type this isht. The idea that ANY Republican, the party of rich, white affirmative action; the party of the "Southern strategy"; the party of "the rich can do no wrong" could fix his fingers to even type something like this astounds me:

Republicans stand, as much as anything, for equality of freedom, equality of opportunity. We do NOT stand for equality of outcome. Hard work is rewarded, laziness is not.

If this doesn't give everyone who reads this at least some taste of the racism, hypocrisy, dishonesty, deceitfulness and just flat out INSANITY that beats in the hearts of far too many of our fellow Americans, I don't know what will.

1. Folks, we all know that the Democratic party can be just as racist as the Repub party at times
The Democratic party is full of AMERICANS and AMERICANS have racial issues. The racial craziness and stupidity that erupts on DU from time to time is proof of that.

But I was just absolutely FLOORED that this man actually felt comfortable taking American history and just completely slicing and dicing it in order to fulfill his urge to portray the Democratic party as the true party of racists in this country. And what's really funny is he expects black people to buy it!!

What is up with people just deciding that they can tell black folks that what we've seen, heard, smelt and tasted with our own eyes wasn't real?? That we are so stupid and so easily led that if they just tell us their version of history or events, we'll forget everything that we KNOW happened and fall right into their arms?? Do you get the feeling sometimes that there are alot of people just PISSED that black folks are not nearly as stupid and blind as they thought we were and need us to be??

Repubs haven't been a friend of anyone not white, not rich/well off financially, not neo-con, and, of course, not white. A political party that has made racism, xenophobia, and blaming anyone and everyone not white (esp. black people) for all of the ills and evils of society has no business talking siht about ALL of the great things they've done for black people--because it didn't happen!

P.S. The follow-on comments are just as racist, hypocritical, revisionist, and ignorant as the original rant. :eyes:

5. Exactly!
That's the thing that is just so (please excuse my language) ball-sy about this.

The party that opened its arms wide for every poor downtrodden white person terrified at the idea of black folks voting and going to college is now trying to act as though they've actually been at the forefront, fighting for our rights. They are so quick to toss out Abraham Lincoln, which is fine. But if you're going to toss out Lincoln's name, you're going to have to also toss out Strom Thurmond, Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater, George Wallace ("segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever!") Jesse Helms, David Duke, Lester Maddox (old governor of my home state of GA) etc. etc. etc.

Shoot, half these folks started out as Dems, which proves my earlier point that the Dem party is not THAT much better than the Repubs on racial issues. But they switched when they saw they heard the racist dog whistles being blown by the Repubs. And the fact that this author is desperately trying to get everyone to forget the racism of his party while acting like they've just been "misunderstood" and black folks have just been "misled" all of these years just seems so hypocritical and dishonest it would be funny if it wasn't so insulting.

3. In the comments
in addition to the foul, condescending, and ignorant comments, there's the obligatory "conservative African-American" poster, (translation: lawn jockey or lying poser) that has to appear. One hardly speaks for all. :puke:

4. I had a choice group of words for them in the comments
but you have to be logged in to comment. I wasn't about to join up with this group of racist fuckwits to do so. It was absolutely quite a disgusting display.

A post full of disgusting stereotypes basically labeling all black people as stupid, gullible, ignorant, stupid, uneducated imbeciles who apparently can't tell which party has a platform that's more in line with our self interest. Condescending, imbecilic and nauseating. I cannot come up with enough pejorative adjectives to fully describe my disgust.

Regards

6. I tried to read through the comments but I couldn't get past the first five
When I saw the one that said "Rush Limbaugh is right and we have to tell black people that Democrats are evil" I couldn't go any further.

You hit the nail on the head. Alot of people think that black people are lazy, stupid and gullible and that if they can just come up with a fancy enough bit of revisionism, we'll fall for it hook, line and sinker. Republicans have been trying that strategy since Reagan. It hasn't happened yet but notice lots of white people still keep hoping that any day now, the famed stupidity of the American Negro will rear its ugly head and we'll finally buy those shit sandwiches they've been selling.

9. That is EXACTLY how I feel. You summed it up brilliantly
Like I said in the first post, there are far too many people who think that black folks are just so stupid and gullible. They think the can pee on us and tell us it's raining and we'll beg for more. Tell us the racism and hate coming out of their respective corners was in our heads and we'll shrug our shoulders because if it comes from the mouths of white folks, it MUST be the truth, right??

It must really piss them off when things don't happen that way, yet they just keep trying. And they call US stupid and gullible.

10. You didn't know?
They've only EVER had our best interests at heart! Never mind that whole segregation, fight to the death against the Civil Rights movement, Southern strategy, the battles over affirmative action, depictions of all black women as welfare queens, all black men as criminals etc. etc. etc.

It's for our own good, donchaknow! And let me borrow this from you for a second -- :eyes:

11. totally....
...and why are black people the "race of choice" for this garbage? it's not like african amercans are the ONLY people of color in the us. or is there some other reason, we see things like this specifically aimed at black people? as opposed to asians? or latinos? or american indians? or middle easterners?

....someone is missing the days when he could legally own people to tend his land. must have been reminiscing about the good old days. they get that way after listening to rush or attending those civil war reenactments they dig so much. he just got stuck in master/general mode. giving orders to subservients got good to him and he couldn't stop.

i'll see if any pro dommes of color feel charitable. maybe she can dress up like kizzy (from roots) and kick his ass back to reality. i hear all the right wing dudes like that sort of thing.

Bliss, I would pay TOP DOLLAR to see that!  Oh, just IMAGINING that cracks me up. :) Or if Kizzy is out, maybe Celie (Color Purple) can hook him up.

The only problem is the BACK to reality bit. Somehow, I get the distinct impression that our dear friend E Pluribus has never and WILL never have any concept of reality. Wouldn't know it if it crawled up his @ss and bit his intestines...
