Reclassification targets 14R, 25F specialtiesBy Jim Tice - Staff writer

The Army has targeted two overstrength Air Defense and Signal Corps specialties for the Fast Track voluntary reclassification program.
The selected specialties are 14R, Bradley Linebacker crewmember, and 25F, network switching system operator and maintainer.
Both specialties have lost authorizations in recent years because of force structure changes. MOS 25F is overstrength at the ranks of private through staff sergeant, and 14R at the ranks of private through sergeant first class.
The manning imbalances not only have slowed promotions for several hundred soldiers, but severely reduced their assignment opportunities.
Both specialties have been placed in the Fast Track program, which gives affected soldiers in 14R until March 12, and those in 25F until May 12, to request reclassification, preferably into another MOS in the same career field. Soldiers in 14R are urged to reclassify to 14J (air defense C-3I tactical ops center enhanced operator and maintainer), or 14S (air and missile defense crewmember).
