Members of 5/10 return to Lejeune Sunday

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — The first civil military operations force formed from an artillery battalion is returning home from Iraq on Sunday.

About 300 members of 5th Battalion, 10th Marines, will celebrate their homecoming at Camp Lejeune, N.C., after a yearlong deployment, according to a 2nd Marine Division spokesman.

The battalion operated in several areas of Iraq, including Fallujah, Ramadi, Habbaniyah, Hit, Anah, Rawah, Al Qaim and Waleed.
