We need them to be our friends and the purchases from Russia just aren't working for them.

This would save us the hassle and cost of disposing of them, etc.

1. India can't afford to pay upkeep or manning for such large ships.

They currently have 55000 personnel and 1 aircraft carrier in service (ex british), INS Viraat (23900 tons, 1350 crew, 12 sea harriers, 9 helos) and you think they could handle one of the Kitty Hawks (61000 tons, crew appx 5000, 64 aircraft, 7 helos)? They only own 23 carrier capable aircraft at this moment and have 16 on order.
