NEW YORK — A Marine from New York City has been killed in combat in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense says 25-year-old Julian T. Brennan was killed Jan. 24 in the Farah province.

Defense officials announced the Brooklyn resident’s death Monday.

Brennan was based at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
