JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — The former home of a Marine corporal accused of killing a pregnant colleague from Ohio is going up for auction in North Carolina.
Law firm Brock & Scott PLLC says on its Web site that the home of Cpl. Cesar Laurean will be offered for bidding Monday morning following a three-week delay from the initial auction date. The ranch-style house has an opening bid of about $102,000.
Laurean has been charged with killing Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach of Vandalia, Ohio, but has been fighting extradition from Mexico. Onslow County, N.C., investigators found Lauterbach’s charred remains in Laurean’s backyard.
The 1,100-square foot house near Camp Lejeune has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
