Barksdale airmen charged with sex crime

Bossier Parish deputies have arrested an airman from Barksdale Air Force Base, La., on sex charges.

Airman 1st Class Christopher Michael Ritchie, 22, was taken into custody early Saturday morning and charged with carnal knowledge of a 16-year-old girl.

The case started when a Bossier sheriff’s deputy observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway on state Highway 527 in Elm Grove south of Bossier City.

The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle and was told he was waiting on his friend to come outside. Ritchie said he met his friend on the Internet and had been talking to her for six months, Bossier Parish sheriff's office spokesman Ed Baswell said.

Ritchie told deputies this was his third time to visit his friend at her residence. He also told them on his second visit they engaged in oral sex while they were in his car, parked in the driveway at her residence.
