1. In May of 2006
someone at DU posted that Al Gore was going to be on SNL. Although it had been decades since I watched the show, I not only turned it on, I recorded the presidential speech.

Now when I am feeling especially low, I stick that puppy into my VCR and all is right w/the world........... for a little while.

2. Watching it makes me happy, too
until it's over, and I know I do NOT live in that parallel universe. Then I reach for the ashes and sackcloth, again.
