I broke up with my coven on Saturday.

It's been coming for a long time, but Saturday I had a meltdown and handled it poorly. How embarrassing. My Imbolc ritual was not well received by someone who had previewed it, and the words, "You're right, -----, and I think this will be my last ritual." fell out of my mouth as I was explaining that the ritual I had e-mailed out would not be the one we were using.

Not only that, I lost the corn dolly from last year, so we had to use a Barbie for the Brid's bed. I've been trying to get away from Barbies and glitter and that sort of fluffy stuff.

So how was YOUR weekend?!

Edited to add: Just went to LBN and saw the threads about religious intolerance. Too easy to get caught up in and frightening when I see it in myself.

I wouldn't dream of joining a coven...all the worst elements of junior high school and organized religion busy-bodiness combined.

Paganism tends to attract some people with ego issues. (surprise, surprise!) I got weary of that after a while and became a solitary.

One nice thing is that my Unitarian Universalist church is very supportive of pagans. I help plan and lead at least one pagan-oriented Sunday service every year. This year I'm doing the spring equinox service, working with a half-dozen other pagans in the congregation.

3. It happens to a lot of us

Solitary is a nice way to worship. I belong to a coven but because of my husband and 3 year old daughter I can't get to many circles. So, I am pretty much solitary. As someone else wrote, paganism seems to attract people with, let's call them, 'interpersonal issues'.
