Twelve members of a church are in police custody

Twelve members of the Solid Rock Church in Ol Kalau division of Nyandaru district, are in police custody after they set ablaze the home of a woman they claimed was a witch inflicting serious injuries on her.

Nyandarua acting OCPD George Lorsku said members Of church at Shamula village raided the home of Samuel Waite Theuri on suspicion that his wife, Lucian Wanjiru Geita, was practicing witchcraft.

The OCPD said property worth more than 300,000 shillings were also destroyed during the raid. He said the incident was triggered by confession by one of the members of the Church that Lucia Wanjiru as a witch.
