Harry Potter is safe for now. On Thursday, the state school board voted to keep the popular children's books on school library shelves in Gwinnett County.
A Gwinnett County mother of four had asked the books be banned because she felt they promoted evil.
“Witchcraft is being mainstreamed to our kids today but people are not aware of it. They think these books are fantasies, but Wicca is a real recognized religion,” Laura Mallory said during a hearing in October.
Mallory faced plenty of opposition to her bid to have the books removed.
