The bomoh strikes again, and again, and again ...” (Sunday Star, Jan 31) in which the MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau chief Datuk Micheal Chong was reported as suggesting that laws are tightened in order to regulate mediums, fortune tellers and bomohs while eliminating the con men.
I agree with him that mediums, bomohs and other occult practitioners should be regulated by law so that the con men and cheats in their midst can be eliminated in order to protect the unsuspecting public.
While it is difficult to legislate against the practice of black magic or prove in court that black magic was used to harm someone, action could be taken with the help of the Government to self-regulate the uncontrolled use of black magic by the black magic practitioners themselves.
While some of those who dabble in the occult and spiritual world are prepared to cheat or harm the enemies of their clients for a fee, there are others who use their powers to heal, to remove spells, cast out spirits and cure those who have been harmed.
