Some of us were speaking of a feeling of dread going back to November and early December. Do you think it was the impending earthquake and tsunami? Or do you still feel it? Is something else coming our way, and soon?

It may have been "it" for some. I still feel something is coming our way. Fire. Man-made. In an unlikely place. This will inspire real terror, but it will not be what it seems at first. I don't 'sense' a large loss of life, just a national sense of terror. Then, the terror spreads the world over.
Now, the logical part of me says this may be "residual" feelings left over from 9-11. The difference is that another terrorist attack, real or imagined, will panic the US, then the world will panic because our standing in the world is tenuous, they will fear response.
So, I am not sure. I battle between what I sense and what I can measure in logic.
I know this didn't help at all. :)

| 2. No, I think it reinforced something I was feeling. |

I think I've gotten "used to" this sense of dread.
Thanks for sharing with me.

| 3. Watching the horror in children's eyes |
|
I saw newscasts of children returning to school in Indonesia. The collective horror, fear and sadness in their small, frail faces was too much for me to bear. I had to turn off the television. If there's something worse coming, I think I'm going to go to the basement and just meditate through the rest of the year.

| 4. My dread started in November, but I thought it was because |
|
of the election.
However, lately it has been stronger than ever - a strong physical sensation, as well as a sixth sense.
I thought maybe I was reacting to what had happened with the Tsunami, and maybe I am, but tonight I was at a women's 12 step meeting, and almost every woman in the room spoke of a sense of dread or impending disaster, although most took it to be a portent for their own personal life....I wonder, though.
My feeling is that it is something coming up, although I don't know if it will be personal or global.

| 5. I think it might have been what I dreamed of |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 05:24 AM by Der Blaue Engel
I can't recall the dream precisely now, but I posted it here a while back. In the dream, I was in a hotel or apartment complex on the coast, and I was trying to warn everyone in the complex to get out because a disaster was coming. The part I distinctly recall is that there was a giant "wave" of energy coming through the sky over the ocean (I likened it then to the "Nexus" in Star Trek Generations).
I had a similar dream before Tiananmen Square. I have no idea why I see these things, as I don't know what they mean at the time and only recognize them later. My theory is that there is some nonlinear perception we can all tap into, and sometimes I just happen upon such events in my dreams.
The odd thing about the "wave" dream was that when no one would heed my warning, I gathered all the animals together to take them with me, because they were the only ones I could save. I've since had at least three more dreams about animals being in danger. Endangered species maybe?
Maybe that's why I finally decided to donate to the Buffalo Field Campaign in Yellowstone the other night. And tonight a story in (of all things) Martha Stewart's Living magazine about the Navajo "churro" sheep caught my eye. Last year I stumbled upon a Native American dog breed someone was trying to save from extinction, which stuck with me. I don't know why, but I feel drawn to honoring the sacred animals of our indigenous tribes.
All that meandering wee-hours babble to say: I think it was an "it"...but I think there's something else on the move.
on edit: I just looked up my original dream post. Interestingly, I described it rather differently then: a red snapshot-like row of sun images in the sky...not the white wavelike band of light I was mentioning above. I think this may have been two different dreams, or a case of layering a remembered image from a movie over the original image of the dream.

| 6. I think that's what I was sensing when I was in Qatar.... |
|
...I was probably closer than most everybody else on this board to the big event. I don't get the sense anymore like I did then. Right now, it's a more general sense of needing to "hit the books" regarding my spirituality and learn more. Maybe I'm feeling the need to prepare for something, but whatever's over the horizon, if it's something coming soon, I don't think there's going to be anything I can do about it.
