| I'm looking for information on Chnubis. |
|
I searched the web but couldn't find any in-depth sources. I'm hoping that someone in this group can tell me a little about the subject, or recommend a good source.

Chnubis has the body of a snake and the head of a lion.

| 6. I met "Chnoubis" once, |
|
although at the time, I didn't know it had a name.
I found it at the end of the grueling maze of stairways and tunnels that connect the strata of consciousness. It lives in a cave at the core.
It is as imposing mentally as it is "physically." I was afraid for my life when I saw it, and resigned myself to death when it "grabbed" my mind. But I found out immediately that I had nothing to fear because it is guided by love. I sat beside it for a while just enjoying its presence. It enjoyed me back. I ran my fingers through its fur, and even gave it a hug. No kidding... :)
Then it told me that it is the gatekeeper, and it led me through the gate.
I won't tell you what happened next because you'll all think I'm crazy. ;)

When the gate opened, I found myself on a precipice so high that I could see the curvature of the earth. The view was so beautiful, serene, and complete that I started weeping. I realized that I was looking at and feeling the fulfillment of the earth's promise to raise life to its apex.
For a moment, everything made perfect sense - every life was accounted for. "This is it," I thought; "this is why we live and die. This is where the universe realizes itself - where life transcends nature."
As I watched, the earth drifted away until I couldn't see it anymore. I ended up feeling homesick.
Edit: rewrote the last sentence.

I dreamed I was flying and I was holding the hand of one of my guardians and I also felt my mother flying with us too . I was flying over the Earth and I could see the mountains and the seas but it was in the view that we are not used to seeing them , it looked like a painting of many different colors - it was very cool . When I woke up I felt as if I had travelled and I felt homesick too .

| 10. Are you a lucid dreamer, CP? |
|
I am, and my story comes from a lucid dream. I've met only a few lucid dreamers in my life.

I'm sorry to say I missed your posts.
Are you undisciplined like me, or have you had teachers and guides? I'm in search of a little discipline.

| 13. I have had these dreams ever since I was a small child . |
|
The earliest one I can remember is from when I was around 2 or 3 years old . I know I was very young - I swore to myself that I would forever keep this dream sacred to myself because it was like " wow " -I will never forget this dream . To answer your question , I would say that I too , am undisciplined because it has always happened " naturally " - I don't have any teachers - only guides in my dreams - and I have never really read any books about it - I just compare what other lucid dreamers have dreamed to mine and they always sound similiar . .

| 14. Me too - I've been able to do it as long as I can remember. |
|
I've read a little about the subject over the years, but I haven't been able to find a source that I'm comfortable with.
Perhaps "self-disciplined" is more appropriate than "undisciplined." For example, the "Chnoubis" experience was the result of all the effort I put into exploring the maze of stairways and tunnels I mentioned. For months, I headed for the basement everytime I fell asleep.
One of the most interesting things about lucid dreaming is that over the years, one develops a "second" memory. It makes it possible to learn the language of the subconscious.

in 2000 - maybe 3 years earlier when I was 17 . I don't know but there has always been a side of me where I have always been intuitive of things that we can not see and things in our dreams that we naturally " intuitively " recognize but we don't understand " why " we naturally recognize what we see . I kept on to my intuition especially when I was 4 - I was very in tune with it . I call that my " age of harmony " because even as a small child , I felt in tune with " nature " . I have had many lucid and astral dreams . I have never had a " Chnoubis " experience because I am not ready for that . As a child growing up whenever I had these astral and lucid dreams , I was very afraid and I did not understand them - so for a period of years I lost my " intuitive " side and it did not come back until I was able to understand and accept everything that was happening . Ok I am sure people think I am crazy now but this is how it really is .
I have been having a series of dreams for the past couple of years . In the dream I am always back at high school - but in my conscious I know that its a mixture of me being in elementary , middle and high school . I am always focused toward having to go to my " locker " - which represents something holding the key to something that I need to maybe educate myself . When I first started having the dreams , I would go towards a set of lockers and I would go to the locker , turn the combination and get whatever I need out of it . But later on when I needed something out of that locker again , I would remember the area where the locker was but I would forget exactly which locker it was , and also the combination . So I kept having these dreams about " the locker " which continue from each other - and more and more I remembered where the locker was , and the combination . A couple of days ago , nothing in my dream was a blur - I went directly to the locker and there was no combination that I had to turn or anything - the locker opened every time I needed to use it . I am trying to interpret this dream because every other time when I would go to the locker before ( and I did not know which exact locker nor the combination ) it was sunny and bright outside and everyone else around me had what they needed , it was pleasant for them . But in the recent dream where I knew exactly what locker to go to , and I did not need a combination because it opens on its own for me , it was dark outside and everyone around me in the dream had troubles - but I was happy . Its very complicated sometimes but this is what I like about the mind - there are so many levels in the subconscious and its very fun to study it . That is if you accept what the mind and your dreams give you :)

I always end up having to pee when I have those. :) The locker does seem to be a regular feature. I like your take on it. H2O Man started an interesting thread a couple of months ago where I talked a little about lucid dreaming and "out of body" experiences. Don't know if you saw it so here's the link if you're interested. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=2766869
