Solitary or not?

Personally, my spiritual practice has become my own, a collection of tidbits that I have collected over the years. So I consider myself a solitary pagan - I don't label myself any other way, as nothing seems to fit me to a tee! How about everyone else?

1. Sort of solitary

Most of the covens I've been in have had people with ego issues, and I don't want to waste time with that nonsense. I practice alone, celebrate Yule with my family, and sometimes help lead pagan services at our Unitarian church. I keep in touch with a few pagan friends by e-mail.

2. Solitary

It is just better for me. I believe spirituality is about improving yourself and getting closer to the 'powers that be.' I don't need other people confusing me! If I feel someone can help me or me them, then I do, but I usually steer clear of groups. Just my preference. Plus, I take a little from all religions (well, many religions..not all).

I'm not one for indepth and complicated rituals

but I enjoy both the ritual of a group practice and the fellowship. Still, I can't do the egos and posturing of a coven. I'm looking now for a mentor, because I need something outside of my own experience to learn and grow with.

Because of my little girl, I am pretty much solitary at the moment, although I try to get together with my coven at our regular monthly "continuing education" meetings. I have introduced her to the concept of greeting the moon and now she wants to see the moon every night when I get home from work.

I've never actually been part of a coven, but I've worked in small groups who were struggling through it. I've never had a true mentor.

Well, except for a few joint spells with my hubby.

My entire family is pagan, but most of us work individual spells and tend to our own spirituality.

Covens I have had contact with have turned me off to joining...too many egos and office pollitics.

for me there's no other way.

I've been to some wonderful festivals, but I am and have always been a solitary practitioner.
