| This week, Randi Rhodes has decided that Atheism is a "religion of disbelief" & is very condesending |
|
I've always liked Randi, but I've had to turn her off this week and will probably be taking a break from her since she has decided that the Atheist she has been speaking to just hasn't "be able to come to a place" to accept religion in public life.
So... it's wrong of us to ask religious people to "come to a place" to accept our Atheism in public life?
Why is she doing this?

| 2. This was the fourth or fifth time I turned her off. |

I gave up when she started shouting over a caller to insist that the proof of God is...
<drumroll>
That people have such strong beliefs that they're willing to die for them...
AND
Believing in God is hardwired into some peoples DNA

The guy she was talking to was being so fair and reasonable. I'm like him- I don't care if people choose to believe in something that I personally find quite silly. What I object to, and I think he was making this point, is the absurd expectation that we have to cater to all these people and that their beliefs have to be respected and inserted in all facets of public life and that we, basically, have to shut up and take it because people have always done this.

| 5. That's Randi the "parent" as opposed to the "adult." |

I listened to her when there was Air America. And then she'd go all nasal on people. So it's music or what -- Beck? I'm neutral about her, but I can't see why she couldn't be more thoughtful about this.

Just like South Park, every now and then the spotlight shines on you.
Do what I do: Grin and bear it, or change the channel til it passes.

| 7. I don't particularly care if she agrees with me or not. Her refusal to hear what the guy was saying |
|
was irritating. There have been a few times over the years I am in shock at how little she is listening to what someone is telling her. This time, it was topic more personal, but I have turned her off for a week or more before because I was growing tired of her talking over someone and not listening when they really weren't being argumentative, nasty or rw parrots.

I never liked RR. I just don't like her style. Sure, she's no Limbaugh or Beck, but she's still pretty irritating, imho

I could no longer listen to her on XM, and you know what, I never missed her. Not at all. Sounds like her departure was a good thing.
