| My teenager and I love Project Runway (possible spoiler) |
|
Was anyone surprised that Austin didn't make it to the final 3? I was SURE he would, but he's really talented and has a future regardless, IMHO. What's up with Wendy? It's like she wants everyone to hate her - I don't understand why she would act the way she does. Last question: Who thinks there's any possibility at all that Kara Saun won't win?

| 1. Kara Saun OUGHT to win |
|
she's far and away the best.
I'm surprised about Austin, but what else could they do? Wendy came through in the clutch and won that round. Otherwise, she'd definately be 'out'. I guess she's just really insecure. Jay didn't win as many rounds as Austin (I think Austin won twice and Jay didn't win at all?), but he was consistently second best while Austin had some stinker bo peep outfits.
I love this show, too!

Kara Saun is so professional and consistent. She's just "got it." Jay surprised me. He doesn't look like he would be good, you know, if you go by what he wears. His designs are creative and edgy, I like most of them. Austin's Bo Peep thingy - what the heck was that? LOL.

| 3. According to fashion week gossip (is word-of-mouth a spoiler?) |
|
Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 08:36 PM by Pikku
The competition has already been held. Jay, Kara, Wendy and Austin all showed lines, because the final elimination episode had not yet come out, and they didn't want to spoil the surprise. Word is that Austin showed numbers like his "Bo Peep" dress (I guess he didn't care, since he already knew he was out), and reviews of Wendy's line vere VERY unkind. I'm sorry, but a big HEH! to that. }(
Kara's stuff was of course, fabulous, but people liked Jay's stuff a great deal, as well. So it may be very close.
Who do you think wrote on Wendy's picture of her daughter? That little tidbit'll be revealed tonight.
as if my own personal drama is not dramatic enough...

| 4. I am surprised that Austin did not make it to the final . |

But in the case of all reality shows , there is always a dramatic surprise . I will be happy with either a Jay or KaraSaun win . I think they both have talent - and along with Austin , I think they have a future in design . All three will find their niche in the fashion world and make their mark . As far as Wendy is concerned - This is not " SURVIVOR " - you make it through the competitions based on your work , not your strategy . Your strategy should be to make work that is consistent . While I think Jay had the better dress during the " Banana Republic " challenge , Wendy won among the judges because her dress was easier to make for mass production . I thought Jay's dress for the " Banana Republic " challenge was darn good . It took a lot of time to make the " Chrysler Building " bodice top , something that would take too long for mass production . I thought Vanessa was just " ?????? " . Ok , you regret being on the show , then move on , don't speak anymore about the show , don't do anymore press regarding the show - move on and make yourself known in the fashion world . I love Austin and his ways - only he can pull off wearing a " George Washington crossing the Delaware River in a boat " outfit and get away with it . Classic . Ok you can tell that I really like this show - this show was the best reality show by far . I was hooked after the first episode . Now what will I watch once its gone ? Sigh LOL - But I will be happy with either Jay or Kara win - Wendy - can't see it ...

|
Hopefully they will show who really did it in the last episode . Is'nt it funny that when Kevin was looking for his black dye in the second episode , after he spent all that time looking for it , accusing Jay of taking it - Wendy casually went " oh I found your dye " . I don't know , I don't like her or her designs .

because that episode was also the one that Wendy picked last and didn't pick her. I bet they would have shown it if were on film and it seemed like they filmed the designers almost all the time they were in the workroom.

Once the show started, I thought that he'd win. His inspiration really came from within -- being inspired by the Aviator was way too Hollywood, I though. But, I do think that Kara Saun will be the "Clay Aiken" of this show in that her success will eclipse his.

Based on the Chrysler building.
Jay kind of grew on me. I would have been happy with either a Jay or Kara Saun win (Why is she always referred to by both her first and last names?), but Jay is more fun to watch.

I thought they all did a good job. Even Wendy's collection, overall, was much better than anything she did on the show, although the booby top was ridiculous. But Jay's honestly was the best. I'm very happy for him.
I was seriously rooting for Jay after the shoe incident. I don't think Kara conducted herself well over that affair at all. I know there's a lot of stress, but I would have expected better from her. And the business with producing an invoice at 15 bucks a pair was just blatantly trying to wiggle through a loophole in the rules.

|
and I can't believe she tried to pull that off . And in the scene where she was talking on the phone , I was screaming " Why are you on speakerphone ! " - she was basically making herself look bad when she kept on talking and looked a bit over-confident by this point . Her clothes were nice but they have been seen before .

|
like she was doing the costumes for the Aviator itself. Jay's were far more artistic. They really were works of art. Plus, I thought he was a much nicer person. You can tell Kara Saun assumed she would win. That bothered me, and certainly the whole shoe thing was outrageous. I thought they might disqualify her over it.

| 22. I think the shoe incident |
|
may be a big reason behind her loss. All of the judges seemed to agonize over the decision, and pretty much thought both were equal. I wonder if it was the shoe fiasco that tipped the balance in Jay's favor, for them. Not that I concur. I think Jay won it hands down.

| 21. Any ideas why they didn't show this dress on the show? |
|
It was one of Wendy's dresses. You saw it being fitted on the model, and they ever so briefly when all of the models came out at the end of her personal showing, but they never showed it close up. It is a pretty dress and it's now for sale on ebay. I'm curious as to whether there was some problem with it. http://projectrunway.at.edeal.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=58338910&prmenbr=52555199&aunbr=58685620

Wendy made 15 with the intention of cutting 3 of them out before the actual show. Sort of like backups in case anything happens to the 12 she intended to show.

| 29. Okay, I just got caught up on the show today during the PR marathon. |
|
But I came in on the episode where the final three were chosen. I had caught a couple of episodes earlier in the season but not the majority, by far.
So if you don't mind, what is it that Wendy did that made everyone hate her? I heard them talk about using strategies and all but no specifics. Anyone mind still talking about it?
Thanks!
