Sometimes I just don't understand Survivor players. While I wish Brunet would stop casting these thin model types and use more "real people" like Stephanie, you have to play the hand you were dealt. I thought Morgan performed better on the 11 mile hike and in the reward challenge than Lydia and maybe better than Amy. I would never have voted out Morgan in the first TC. Her laziness around camp seemed to do her in, but everyone in their confessionals confirmed that she was more valuable at challenges. I would have said good bye to Lydia. If history is any guide, Lydia made it past her trap door and will go very far in the game now. She seems to have support from Stephanie and Brian, which if she is smart she will use.
Gary, what a dumb ass. If you get called on your bluff, but before you outright lie, don't lie once you hear someone knows. This is not just someone saying Gary looks like a former NFL guy. This is a professional sports talk show host who grew up in the south when Gary was the QB of the cowboys. there is no doubt that she called him on it. He should have some clean to his tribe. I am sure he will make the merge, but I think this will be his downfall.
Overall a fun episode. there are still so many people that we don't get to know anyone all that well yet. I still don't like Judd very much, but maybe he will grow on me.

...but not as much as she was. She really looked like she got hit by the side of a buffalo. They seemed to know that Morgan would be better at challenges, but it seemed like maybe they thought that Lydia would be able to contribute more to the overall health by helping to catch fish. Not sure if that'll work out. Honestly I would have pushed to vote out Lydia even if I didn't like Morgan. The biggest mistake you can make is not to think of what will keep your tribe strong at that point. It'd be like voting out the strongest smartest member first, becuase you know they'll be a challenge later on in the game. That's just dumb. You need that person till you merge. We'll have to see how it plays out. It looked like maybe Lydia got the warning she was on the block, and she was more succesfull politically in getting her neck off it, while Morgan wasn't warned and had no clue. I think if what's his name hadn't told Lydia to make her case, she would have gone.
Gary. Yeah. Not a good liar. If your whole strategy going in is to claim you are someone else, then expect it to happen and just ignore it. Practice before you go. Deny, but not to hard. Yeah. If I were him though I'd have to keep it up. Even if she says that he needs to be saying "Yeah I've got that my whole life. My name's Gary and I look just like this old NFL quarterback Gary Hogeboom. Hey. I'd love to have been an NFL Quarterback. Dude I wish I was Gary Hogeboom, then I could be sitting in my jacuzzi right now with my car dealerships isntead of worrying about whether my landscaping business is doing ok while i'm gone. I'm not him. Sorry, wish I was." That kind of thing. He should NEVER come clean. It would a) show he was lying and b) insure his exit because they'd see him as not needing the money. I agree. This will be his downfall.

| 2. Morgan's hair just said "vote me out" on the first day |

I know it's superficial, but there it is.
And Lydia is so tiny. That's got to hurt her in the strength and endurance challenges.

was all perception, that I could tell.
Unless they anticipate more 11 mile hikes, Lydia's doing fine.
In an interview, Morgan said she was the only one on the tribe who know how to start a fire with flint, confirming my opinion that Steph is a complete loser.

because I was too busy talking on the phone and lost track of time. I was telling my mom about my trip to South Korea -- where Armed Forces Network actually carried Survivor so I didn't miss episode 1! I was so involved in my conversation I didn't realize it was over until I saw Morgan giving her little speech at the end. :grr:
