Okay, apart from the highly annoying tease at the beginning of the show as to who is the new Prez, what was everyone's thoughts about it?
To me it seemed very choppy, it didn't flow, even the build-up about the leaker seemed weak...
I sincerely hope that we get through this election bullcrap within the first three episodes, so we can see what a Santos Presidency looks like.
Of course if Alan Alda becomes the President I won't have a reason to watch it anymore, and I have to believe that regardless of how coy the producers of the show are being, they know without a shadow of a doubt that if a repuklican gets "elected" the show is DOA.
What is interesting though, is the fact that the rethuglican running is a moderate. His rnc acceptance speech was magnanimous, and his rhetoric hasn't been the fire and brimstone that we see in real life. I wonder if the producers/writers are giving the Dems a heads-up about what to look out for in 2008. If another hard-line facistv like shrub gets the repub nod, it'll be easy to knock them down, but if it's a moderate, that appeals to the centre that could present alot of challenges....
Thoughts?

| 1. Well, I seem to remember hearing |

that the election is going to take up a bunch of this season. I doubt it will be done in three episodes.
I rather like the election storyline and hope they drag it out as long as they can. I'm not particularly enthused to go back to the regular West Wing dynamic, even with a new President in Santos.
The leaker story is going to get real good, real soon.
I liked it, but the opening teaser was unneccessary. I was kinda hoping they'd leave the possibility of a President Bartlet death as he leaves office. Now I know that doesn't happen.

| 2. You know I hadn't thought about it but I bet the show is dead soon |

I've really enjoyed the election dynamic as you've mentioned and i'm definately into watching it.
Yet, when it's over and Santos is president...I don't know if I really care too much about watching it anymore.
It's been an interesting show about a presidency, and while I like Jimmy Smits, and the SAntos character...I just feel that if they do get one more season after this, it'll be the last.
Who knows though. I stopped watching ER when George Clooney and what's her name...the nurse chick...when they were gone, to me the show as pretty much over..yet on and on and on it grinds.

| 3. You are going to have to wait until February Sweeps |
|
The November Sweeps will be the debate, actually playing out like a live debate covered by NBC. The winner will not be decided until the end of February sweeps.
