Latest episode of West Wing
OK this was a great episode. I thought it was really well done. At times made it uncomfortable to watch it was so good. You could really feel the tension, betrayal, mistrust, long friendship gone, kind of feeling in the air.

Almost had me in tears.

What did y'all think?

1. absolutely fabulous!
It was yet another great episode. I am really liking this season and all the angles they are pursuing. They haven't really involved Alan Alda so much in the story line yet. Next week's episode with the 'live' debate will be interesting! I'm looking forward to that too!

2. I don't think the 'live' debate is next week
It's supposed to be sometime in November.

Next week is about the leak fallout and Santos/Vinick dealing with an abortion attack ad.

next week's episode says this: THE AL SMITH DINNER
8pm 2005-10-30 ALL NEW!

BOTH CANDIDATES MUST FACE THE QUESTION OF ABORTION - A third party attack on Santos (Jimmy Smits) brings unwanted attention to both he and Vinick's (Alan Alda) stance on abortion. Meanwhile, Will (Joshua Malina) gets a promotion. Also starring Allison Janney, Martin Sheen, Brad Whitford, Kristin Chenoweth and John Spencer. TV-PG

November 6th's episode is the 'Live Debate'.

ps. I went to the NBC site for the West Wing

link here: http://www.nbc.com/The_West_Wing/

and at the top of the page, they have the pictures of all the main characters. Of course, Martin Sheen is front and center. To the left, right behind him is the picture of 'Santos'. There is NO picture for 'Vinick'. I find this curious, and wonder if this is some 'tip-off' as to how the election may go??? Just wondering out loud and if anyone else noticed the same thing....

7. I think they tipped it off in the credits
Jimmy Smits is credited the same way as Sheen is (at the end using with) while Alan Alda is credited at the beginning (like a normal character.)

9. Sometimes how the actor appears in the credits
is a negotiated item. So Jimmy Smits may have agreed to be on the show if he was given equal billing with Martin Sheen and Alan Alda didn't.

Just a possibility, though. I'm no expert in the field! ;)

5. I agree with everything you've said
I loved the scene in the OO where CJ and Oliver came in to tell Bartlett about the confession. Shot through the glass with no words, but you knew exactly what they were saying. Very well done.

6. Santos's face when he tells Josh
Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 08:16 PM by Pithy Cherub
to go ahead with the staff shakeup. And then the look on Santos's face as if he is contemplating finding a boss for Josh. Then the staffer Neil that was sent back to the congressional office and said "screw you to Josh". It was all powerful stuff.

My favorite line was snuck in near the beginning, the last person to get a subpoena is the target of the investigation. All the silence between CJ and Toby then ensued.

:applause: Sorkin class on that episode.

10. I can't wait for the debate
The debate will be great. Alda was so smug when he played Vinick's line "are you sure this is how you want your campaign to end?" He played that well. I love Alda. He is such a powerful actor. I wish he did TV more often.

11. Zogby is doing a poll this week about the West Wing..
and following it up with a poll after the debate episode. The poll was asking questions abt the candidates as if they were in real life.
