I had completely forgotten the series was being revived until a few nights ago, when I came across the kick-off episode, "Rose." Now it's on my TiVo wishlist and I'm looking forward to tonight's show.
This new incarnation is the hottest-looking Doctor Who ever. I don't think I've ever seen the Doctor portayed with any kind of sexual edge before this. Yum.

My TiVo messed up and didn't record the first showing of tonight's episode, so I have it set to record the one at 11 pm central time. I hadn't seen the original since I was a little kid, and I barely remember it, so I really can't compare it to the original. I knew the basic premise, and that's about it. I love the actor they have portraying the Doctor.
I loved the last living human being bit in the first episode. She'd had so much plastic surgery that she was nothing but a stretched out piece of skin on a rack. "Moisturize me!"

I just finished watching tonight's show. Love what they did with "Charlie." My only nitpick is in thinking it wasn't right that the Doctor was so easily hoodwinked.
I started watching in the early 1980s, in college. The local PBS station broadcast the serials with Tom Baker's Doctor. It seemed bizarre at first but I was easily hooked.
I used to love the cheap, cheesy sets and effects from the old shows. Some of it was so bad, you got a real idea of what it meant for an actor to be a trouper.
