| If you were a Progressive, and a tv media mogul |
|
Edited on Sun Jun-11-06 01:29 AM by NI4NI
If you were a tv media mogul who wanted to put your money where your mouth is to further along the progressive movement by way of a tv network, what would your programming formats be? Who would you hire as hosts? Do you think that televising live progressive radio talk show broadcasts would work? Would you watch somethng like Media Matters For America if it was on television? What would be your alternative to MSM Sunday talk shows. I have my own personal favorites, especially something like MMFA, or during the week Randi Rhoades, a Bernie Ward, and after the kids go to bed at night Mike Malloy.....the list goes on and on. I'd expect some programs to include open invitations to all republican and democratic politicians with prior knowledge that it won't be a walk in the park for either party. Isn't it a fact which we all know that unless the highly organized and well-oiled 'Lican sound machine (MSM&FAUX)isn't counteracted and opposed a helluva lot harder and more often than it has been,,,then,,,well,,,Everybody is well aware already of what has and will continue take place.
Now, I know that the possibility of such a venture happening is "none" to "are you nutz", and I also realize that only the opponents of the death tax have that kind of money to invest and protect their agenda, but I'm just curious to know why, especially in light of the fact that it's been the biggest of big-play gamebreakers for the republicans for years.

and I would want to have shows with Phil Donohue, Jerry Springer, and James Carville on them as well. Also, I would have an hour long Hatewatch show to point out connections between the right wing of out political system and hate groups such as the CCC. If more of the truth about those connections was allowed to surface, many middle of the road voters would be more turned off by the right.
I would also definitely want a show that points out main stream media's inaccuracies and conservative brown nosing.
I might go for a show like Hannity and Colmes but I would want someone solid in there for the left and only have the cookiest and dumbest of the right show up for the debate. I guess it would be the like the alter ego of Hannity and Colmes. Instead of debasing the left, it would debase the right. This one would just be there for payback.
One thing is for sure. I would try to get Jon Stewart's Daily Show from Comedy Central onto my network. I would try to alot at least 2 hours out of each 24 hour period for spoof-type shows like his as well, just to lighten the mood every once in a while and entertain people who want to take a break from the bickering and serious talk.

on the Crossfire shows...I enjoyed Crossfire, its one of the things I enjoyed about politics, spirited debate! :) I don't know what my format would be, but it would be a lot like the History Channel...if you learn your history, you are less likely to make the same mistakes....and history is a lost art nowadays, its blurred with politics/bias....
