| 1. Is the first season out on DVD? |
|
I'm like one of the 50 people left in the world who does not have premium cable, and thus, no Showtime. I've read articles about the show, though, and am a fan of Mary-Louise Parker (from her West Wing days), and I would love to sit down and watch it.

Are you up to date on this season? I'd love to talk about this week's episode. Not surprised about one aspect. I'm very surprised about another. ;) And I agree, great show! Growing concerned about her children, though. lol. But I think that's the point. lol. On edit: here's one of my attempts at discussion last season: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=267x3010My attempt at discussion of the season finale: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=267x3156:hi:

In fact, after going to those other threads you linked and reading there, I realize I need to re-watch all of last season, lol.

Let's discuss it.
I'm bothered by Mary Jane's (I can't remember her name, or her aka name) incredibly stupid move of having her competition busted. Doesn't she have HBO? Doesn't she watch shows like Oz? Doesn't she know how the crime world works? How could she be so naive? It's purely a plot device, and I hate when writers resort to such things.
What else?

| 7. I wasn't sure if Nancy was really asking her |
|
husband (in name only) to do that (bust the competition), or if she was merely asking his advice on how to handle it.
But I have to say that I agree, it doesn't seem to be the best idea, and rather naive. Why not just get another house to grow the pot in?
Then again, they never follow "our" logic on shows, do they? LOL! I didn't watch OZ, but what you said about the way the crime world works does make sense.
Celia pulling Nancy's hair--funny but so very sad. The woman obviously doesn't have a clue how to "win friends or influence people." LOL!
Haylia dating that fake Islamic guy--he's a total poser and trying to control her with his bull. Hate guys like that. This week's dinner with the daughter is GREAT. I won't say more than that, in case you haven't seen it yet.

| 8. Saw this week's show ... (spoilers) |
|
Another plot device bothering me: how could it be possible that Mr. DEA knew that Nancy was dealing, but knew nothing about Conrad?
And Haylia dressing up as a beekeeper ... lol! Daughter was right on to say what she did.
Maybe Nancy, Peter and Conrad will go to Utah and make it a 3-way?
And.. oh, poor Andy.. (ouch!)

I still can't believe Andy allowed her to do that. Kinda' funny, kinda' scary...that looked like it was going to be painful--that dildo looked HUGE!
I wondered the same thing, how could Mr. DEA know about Nancy and not know about Conrad. Oh well...time will tell.
Something tells me they aren't going to "keep it small" the way Peter told them to--just sell to the medical marijuana community. They never listen to anyone, so they aren't even going to listen to the DEA. :eyes:

| 10. About keeping it small |
|
Where's the money in that? Weren't the prices very much lower at the medical supply place? Of course they won't do that, will they? Or maybe they will.
If I were Conrad, I'd be wondering how powerful Peter actually is with the DEA. Just because one agent is on their side, doesn't mean the whole DEA is.
And who thinks the Armenian situation just disappeared all nice and tidy? Nah...
