| Getting frustrated with Lost! |
|
I came to Lost halfway during the second season after I bought the first season and watched it while I exercised. Then I bought the first half of season two from itunes and finished watching the rest as the show was broadcast.
Watching one episode after another without delay, not even commercial breaks, the show was addictive. However, now that I'm watching it as it airs, I am increasingly frustrated with the pace and lack of answers. At the end of last season, I felt I was willing to give the show two more years, one year to answer the questions and then maybe a year of "future stories" to follow the characters back to their lives off of the island.
I'm still willing to give the show time but I can't say that I was thrilled with the season premiere. I know I'm an impatient person but I've watched plenty of serials over the years and I don't remember feeling this angry (relative to the fact that it's just a TV show ;) )before.

| 1. I have noticed on other boards that fans are getting disgusted. |

I am still hanging on, but no longer enthused about the show. I used to send dvds of the show which I recorded to a friend, but she gave up on the show in the middle of last season. The show does not answer questions or tie up plot ends while at the same time it keeps introducing new characters and adding more plot twists. I see this show spiraling down and its ratings going down with it. Maybe it has already jumped the shark.

| 2. My husband didn't watch all of last season like I did. |
|
He didn't watch the episodes I downloaded but started with those recorded on the DVR. I would occasionally pause the show and fill him in on something that he missed. What surprised me is that I didn't have to do it very often! Out of all that had occurred in the first ten or so shows, very little of it had anything to do with what was going on later. That was an eye-opener for me.

| 3. I hope it doesn't end like Carnivale |
|
It answered some questions but left a lot open.

| 4. Funny you should mention that. |

For some reason, I remembered today about the special numbers, how Hurley won the lottery with them and all the other ways they kept coming up as significant. I'm sure that mystery will be solved but there are so many other threads, some of which have been left hanging for months, that I wonder if all will be tied up before it's through.
I'm thinking that these first six episodes are building to something -- the way each one focuses on either the captives or a select group of the rest of them -- and then we'll have all this time to think about it before the show returns in February. I haven't visited any of the Lost boards lately but I wonder if others are getting as impatient as I am! :)
