I love this new show starring Anne Heche. It's a charming comedy/drama set in Alaska (but really filmed outside of Vancouver). It's a bit like Northern Exposure meets Sex in the City (the cleaned up version).

The only reason I made a point to watch it was that we took a cruise to Alaska in August and I thought I'd enjoy watching a show set there. Then I found out it was filmed in Vancouver but I already liked the show. I record it because my husband doesn't like it so much. We were only in each port -- Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan -- for a day, though we drove around, went out in a boat, and flew in a floatplane, but the show does seem to capture the "feel" of Alaska and I enjoy the characters and the humor.

I have a friend who moved to Anchorage so I went to visit. The show does remind me of Alaska. I was surprised at how much I like the show. I enjoy all of the performers, especially Anne Heche. I think she does a very good job in her role. I enjoy the humor and think it's refreshingly sweet. I record it on the DVR too because my husband's not especially interested. I hope that it catches on so it stays on the air. I haven't heard how it's doing in the ratings.

I'm born/raised in Ketchikan, Ak...its nothing but a big tourist port now...on any given day there can be up to 6 cruise ships in town...:)

In Ketchikan, we took a floatplane trip to Misty Fjords. Just breathtaking! I actually liked Ketchikan the best of the ports we went to. In Skagway, we rented a car and drove to Emerald Lake. We also hiked in the woods right there in town and almost didn't make it back to the ship in time! I'd love to go back and spend more time, this time on a land tour. I enjoyed the cruise but it's not my favorite way to travel.
How did you ever leave such a gorgeous place? :)

went to college in Kansas...and met my future wife there, and decided to move down to SW Missouri and try and make a life here...we are doing okay, but at times, I really struggle with being away from Ketchikan...SW missouri just isn't for me...both in mindset, or environmentally...

I read somewhere it wasn't doing very good in the ratings, but, we'll see. I wasn't at all familiar with Anne Heche, but she's perfect for the role! The characters and story lines are FUN! No violence, drugs, and minimal sex, for a change.

And I show that I feel comfortable watching with my daughter too. I hope it does well. Friday night is a tough spot for ratings.

Now that it's on after Grey's Anatomy, I never miss it.
Is it just me, or does John Amos never age...

ABC promoted that silly 6 degree show, and barely said anything about Men in Trees advertising wise, you kind of had to stumble on to it. It's fun, Anne Heche looks very young she has aged gracefully.

| 10. What does everyone think of Justine Bateman as Lynn? |

I was surprised at the casting. I just don't see any chemistry between her and Jack. The chemistry between him and Marin is very strong. It will be interesting to see how this storyline plays out.
