Congrats to Eric, Desi!

I was rooting for him, and was thrilled when I saw him win!

When was this taped, do you know? It looked like around Christmas.

Had I known, I would have tried to be in SF that day, it would have been fun to watch.

Did you know, or how do they do that, since they're taping in advance -- did Eric just have to not tell you, or what??

Please fill us in, when you get a chance.

1. I was happy with the outcome

as long as it wasn't Mirna and Charla, I got so sick of everything being "LIFE OR DEATH" it's for a million but it's not like anyone is going to die... c'mon.

Do you remember how the $$$ is split up between the final 3? I thought it was something like one million, fifty thousand, and ten thousand.

3. I saw them on Regis and Kelly Yesterday

They have broken up and they are still bickering at each other. It was kind of a disaster, these two children should have never started dating.

Needless to say we are so proud of our kids. Sorry for not replying sooner but we have been in NYC since last Saturday and just got home late Tuesday night. On Sunday night we went to a club in NY to watch the finale with some of the racers, family, close friends and production people including Bertram, Elise, Phil and Peggy Bunker from The Finish Line. (We have some pictures to share but our daughter took our camera so we have to wait until she returns it) We watched them do The Early Show on Monday and Regis and Kelly on Tuesday. We've been on an endless roller coaster since we hit NYC. Yes the final was taped a couple of weeks before Christmas and Eric spent Christmas with us in Ohio. I was hoping, and asked Danielle when they were allowed to call us after the race was over, if she could spend the holidays with us as well but her family missed her just like we missed Eric.
Some facts: Our entire family, including our under legal age 16yr old son, was under a non-disclosure confidentiality contract with both the producers and CBS. We were not allowed to tell anyone, not even other close relatives OR friends, where Eric was during the taping of the show. The penalty for disclosing any information about the show is quite steep, 10 Million Dollars. That must be a great feeling. Eric and Danielle ran a great race. I was hoping and praying they would beat the Barbie girls. After coming so close before, he must have been very relieved to finish in first place.

I've always wondered how that worked! $10 million you say, lol -- uh, wow. Guess that's incentive enough to keep quiet. Even that, though, I wonder about -- why not just make Eric sign it? Do they do it for all contestants, for just the finalists, or ? How do they know who to make sign the agreement? Just immediate family? If a contestant's family member won't sign, can they be automatically disqualified? Questions, questions...

But, take your time, decompress, and post more about it when you can.

So, you've known he won for a few months??? That has got to be a hard one to keep in! Did he buy you a nice Christmast present? :D

7. I was disappointed

But, then again, I wasn't excited about any of the final three teams winning.

I missed the finale and it seems I didn't miss much. At least Romber didn't win and that was the only thing I was hoping for since I first saw they were going to be contestants.

Oh well, not the best season but there's always next time.
