Help! Anyone have a Dish Network DVR?

Now doggone it, I am pretty good at figuring out new things like that, but this has me stymied.

We got HD last week-end, still struggling to get them to get all the HD channels to us...they are sending another tech tomorrow since customer service can't tell us how to the get the other channels. Now something is wrong with that picture.

Recording the present program is quite easy. But I am been reading the manual, testing the DVR scheduling for a one time only show later. It looks like it is scheduled then nothing happens, and then it is gone.

The manual is confusing.

I always heard DVRs were easier then VCRs to program, but this is puzzling.

Any tips?

1. Well, I got it to do a timed record.
